“Brilliant again”
Reviewed 15 March 2014

Been before.
2 couples stayed for 2 nights on an Itison deal.Could not fault it. Accomodation first class, good choice of well cooked tasty food, friendly helpful staff. Great value. Good base for walking parts of the Fife Coastal Way and a trip to the Isle of May in the summer is a must. We will return.

Stayed at the Waterfront for 2 nights using an Itison voucher. Great value, very nice welcome from friendly staff the meals taken in the restaurant were first class with choices from the full menu as opposed to a limited choice which you sometimes get when using a voucher. The quality of the evening meals and breakfast were first class. Found the room to be very comfortable, floorboards very creaky however, "The Granary" is an old building and if you are a light sleeper you may experience a disturbed nights sleep. As identified by another reviewer, the shower is in the bath and can be quite difficult to get in/out as it is quite slippy when wet. A handrail would be a welcome addition from a safety point of view. The small courtyard and alleyway leading to it could also benefit from a spring spruce up/ steam clean which would enhance the general first impression. Notwithstanding the foregoing comment, the Waterfront is well worth a visit and we will be delighted to return

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper you may benefit from a top floor room.

Stayed at The Waterfront whilst visiting my parents who live in Cellardyke. The room was comfortable but a bit small with the furnishings in it. There was only one chair and no room for another which could be a problem if you wanted to stay in the room for any length of time, but as we were out and about visiting during the day this was not a major problem for us. I understand there are larger rooms in the complex. Breakfast is served in the restaurant. What a pleasant change to have your breakfast cooked to order rather than the normal buffet breakfast, and the choice on the menu is the best I've come across in any hotel. All of the staff were attentive and polite.

We stayed here on an itison deal and found it very good value. We were given a family room which was lovely and spacious and very cosy. The staff at the Waterfront are very friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was amazing - the portions are huge! The breakfast menu had a large choice of cooked dishes, and was also lovely. We look forward to returning to stay sometime and eating in the restaurant.

Ate here while visiting the area. Menu was good and plentiful. Was a little disappointed that the waitress didn't tell us about the high tea menu....considering my husband ordered fish! Hence not giving the venue a 5 rating. Worth a visit.

This is a really nice hotel which we would definitely visit again. We had lunch there before we checked in and were given a discount as guests of the hotel, which was a nice touch and unexpected. We were also given a flyer entitling us to a free drink at the sister hotel 'The Bank' which was also a nice touch. The waitress who we dealt with was very friendly and attentive.
We had very large room with a very large bed, this room also had bunk beds and a walk in wardrobe, so I assume it was a family room. The bath which had a shower was very slippy and the shower screen didn't stay in line with the bath, so the water would drip onto the floor making it wet and possibly dangerous. Just pointing this out.

I always believe that first impressions are the ones that stay with you. We arrived last weekend and were welcomed by very friendly and helpful staff. We were shown to our room. We had been allocated a family room. Apart from a spacious king sized bed, there were also bunk beds fitted into an alcove. Both beds had individual televisions fitted in at the end of the beds. Every child's dream. Fantastic room, spotlessly clean. We were provided with bottled water, two drink vouchers for the sister hotel and two discount vouchers for the Fishery Museum - nice touches. We ate in the restaurant on both nights. Again the staff were just so nice and what can I say about the food - great. The only complaint that I had was the size of the portions, they were enormous. Breakfast was excellent too. Would I go back? Yes
We have previously stayed at other hotels in St Andrews and I have to say that The Waterfront is my favorite East Neuk hotel
