Description: Small unique Scottish Restaurant tucked away just off the main street in Anstruther. A historic little restaurant in the heart of the East Neuk. Was once used as a store by fishermen for there fishing nets. And also used as a smokehouse and cooperage. It was converted into a Restaurant over 40 years ago, and is now owned by local Chef Billy Boyter and his family. The Restaurant also has a small bar selling locally produced beer and a good selection of Scottish Gins and Whiskies.

Tried to book midweek for lunch two weeks ago, as visited last year and had a delicious meal. However restaurant was not open unfortunately. The disappointment that we felt, simply shows the quality of the Cellar! Terrific menu, lovely staff and an excellent wine list.

Best restaurant in Fife. Consistently great food, attentive service and wonderful ambience. A real dining experience. Relaxed and unpretentious. Pace of meal perfectly set from drinks on arrival to coffee after dinner. Never made to feel hurried but never drumming the fingers awaiting food. Staff very attentive but not intrusive. Food always cooked to perfection. Love the decor and the subtle lighting.
The only thing I would change would be a little more variety with the menu to cater for frequently returning clients.

The Cellar was raved about by our hosts, and mostly lived up to their hype. A lively and atmospheric restaurant with plenty of other diners in the night we visited, the food was all good or better, but with strong challenges in the area from the likes of The Peat Inn and Sangster's, the pricing might have been a little more competitive.
