“Dog-friendly and welcoming.”
Reviewed 8 September 2013

A warm welcoming heart of the village inn with reasonably priced beers and meals (burgers a speciality) served in a dog-friendly bar. Nothing outstanding but will not disappoint if you are in the area.

“Simple, freshly cooked food.”
Reviewed 10 March 2013 via mobile

My wife and I had lunch here today.

First impressions. Small pub, 5 tables set up for lunch. (dinner is served downstairs in the restaurant) similar to the pitlessie inn, but smaller.

Meet and greet, worked well. We had a friendly welcome, shown to the table, menu's presented, soup choice explained and drinks order taken.

Menu was quite restricted for lunch, but it was nice to see snacks available on a sunday. Usual fayre such as burgers, macaroni, soup, haddock and chips. We were told that the meat products came from the local ceres butcher, definitely a strong point. We chose, the french onion soup to start, followed by a mexican burger, and my wife asked for a bacon, brie and cranberry panini, that was not on the menu, but this was no problem to prepare.

Service, was prompt with no delays. Only mistake that was made was to not put the 2nd glass of wine on the bill.

Food, beautiful french onion soup with cheesy croutons and extra ciabatta. The burger came with salsa, cheese, jalapenos, creamy coleslaw, and chips. Nice spicy burger, and really good coleslaw, but the chips were of the standard catering variety. My wife really enjoyed her panini.

Value. Excellent, 4 courses and 3 drinks for £30.

Overall, would return, and thanks for a lovely simple lunch.

“A warm welcome, good pub food from friendly staff who know their beer”
Reviewed 16 January 2013

The inn uses burgers sourced from the local renowned Ceres Butcher. Food is home cooked - definitely better than average for pub grub. Lennie the owner knows his stuff and provides a warm welcome, we tried a variety of beers on tap that were new to us. Outdoor seating is good if weather permits - overlooking the burn & village green

“A very warm welcome”
Reviewed 14 October 2012

We stopped for a quick pint on a cycling tour of Fife and were warmly greeted by the landlord. A look at the menu ensured we stayed for lunch and an excellent steak and ale pie, with steak from the local butcher. It was delicious and I was close to licking my plate!
One drink later and we had to be on our way, but we made a bee line back to Ceres on our return trip as we enjoyed it so much.
Highly recommended!
