We have just spent three days of luxury and pampering at Ferrymuir. The minute Mary opened the door to welcome us we knew we were in for a treat. Everything about Ferrymuir is done to the highest of standards without loosing the warmth of their family home. Our room was perfect with everything you could wish for flowers, fruit, fridge hidden away in the wardrobe with cold bottled water and jug of fresh milk to add to the excellent presented tea tray - all the added extras that make you feel special. Bathrobes and slippers and huge fluffy white towels to add to the lovely toiletries and amazing shower. And then there was the breakfast. Beautifully presented in the relaxing diningroom, we loved not feeling rushed and the attention to detail with an amazing choice of the best local produce. Mary and John delivered everything straight to the table, no buffet - just the best service ever. We went to Cupar for a birthday treat to dine at Ostlers but our stay at Ferrymuir was the real birthday surprise and Ostlers became the add on. Mary was at the front of the queue when personality was handed out and obviously her and John both love what they do. Thank you both we had fun and will be back.

To call Ferrymuir Stables a Bed and Breakfast is like calling Roederer Cristal a sparkling wine!
From arrival to departure you every need is catered for Mary and John, including John operating the best taxi service in Fife.
We had been recommended by a friend to stay here with our two children whilst attending a family celebration nearby.
We expected a comfortable and well appointed B&B, and we were then totally blown away by the whole ambience of the place, totally 5 stars ++++ and very few hotels in the country could come anywhere near the quality of service provided and we look forward to returning again in the future.

It is difficult to add to all the 5 star and totally deserved glowing reviews here. Ferrymuir Stables looked great on the website but it was even better than expected. It is a stunning home and has a definite wow factor. It is absolutely spotless and my very fussy wife said that she had never seen anywhere so immaculate. It is difficult to overdo the superlatives but everything about this bed and breakfast is superb.

Mary and John are extremely helpful and great hosts and it was a privilege to stay in their beautiful home.

The room was superb with everything you could ask for - flatscreen Sony TV, DVD player, selection of DVD's, iPod dock, a netbook, wifi, fresh fruit, fresh milk in the fridge, tea and coffee making facility, complimentary chocolate, a selection of toiletries, and a great shower.

We were offered a drink on arrival, and when we said that we had champagne, Mary said that when she bought the fridges for the room, she had measured it to ensure it would take a bottle, which is typical of the attention to detail. She then returned with gleaming champagne glasses.

John then drove us to the restaurant at night (Ostlers Close) and when we got back, we were offered a night cap.

Breakfast next day was absolutely superb, and sitting in the beautiful dining room having a better breakfast than any hotel, it was hard to believe that it was only £110.

I have recommended Ferrymuir Stables and sent photographs to lots of my friends and when they stay there, I know that they will be delighted with my reccomendation.

We have stayed in a lot of 5 star hotels at 5-8 times the price that do not compare and we will definitely be back.

Hubby and I are 32/33 and we travelling through to stay for my husbands grandmothers 80th Birthday at their home in Balmalcolm. We were looking for a base as both of us are very allergic to cats. (and granny has cats!)
We didnt really want the inconvenience of travelling into St Andrews as we are more used to staying in 5 star hotels than B & Bs, and were planning to enjoy an alcoholic beverage (or2) and knew this might be an issue with getting taxis etc into St Andrews.

Hubby stumbled across the online and after I had spent a good hour looking at local 3/4 star hotels and b&bs with green walls and frilly pink bedcovers, we were happy to see something that looked a bit more modern and more to our style..

We booked and were sent a confirmation by the owners Mary & John and asked to give them a call to advise when we were planning to arrive.

When we arrived at the Stables, my first thought was WOW! Absolutely stunning! The setting of the property, the intitial invite in by Mary, was just fantastic, and this was to be the theme for the full time we were there.

Mary and John couldnt do enough for us, and it was genuinely warming to meet the most lovely couple who took time to show us their home, make us feel special and welcome and for the impeccible hospitality.

You really couldnt meet a nicer couple, and the breakfast in the morning! - Fantastic!!! They have built their home with genuine love and attention to detail and I took away a good few ideas for my own home (sorry!! as I will DEF steal some of your style, Mary :))

I have been home for 3 days since our stay and have genuinely recommended this to at least 30 people who I do business with, and would hope to head back again in the VERY near future for a lovely dinner at the recommended restuarant down the road.

I want to thank Mary & John again for the fantastic stay and every element they provided was a lovely touch, from the fresh milk for tea and coffee, choccy bars in the fridge, a variety of gorgeous shower gels and especially the Netbooks in the rooms for WIFI access.

We will DEF return!!!

Having decided to return here after a simply fantastic first experience, my expectations were exceeded yet again on my return visit.

I really cannot praise this establishment and it's proprietors highly enough. Mary and John are warm, informative, extremely obliging but never intrusive. Nothing is too much hassle and every effort is made to ensure that guests are comfortable and relaxed.

Having stayed in 6 star luxury in Dubai and in many 5 star hotels and resorts, this establishment is up there with the very best -and yet at a fraction of the cost.

Thank you Mary and John for your hospitality and congratulations on such a wonderful business.
