“WONDERFUL IN EVERY WAY”
Reviewed 24 September 2013

We arrived at this wonderful bed and breakfast and were completely blown away with the place. On arrival Mary's hospitality was immediately evident with an offer of a cold glass of wine and beer which my husband of course took her up on .We were then shown round the building and then to our room which had every ammenity to hand from an iron and ironing board to slippers, robes, fresh fruit, flowers and toiletries which were plentiful. We enjoyed a lovely meal at a restaurant which had been recommended and booked by Mary and then had one of the best nights sleep in a b and b that we have every had it was so peaceful and extremely comfortable. The next day we had a most enjoyable breakfast made even better with a pleasant chat over coffee wth Mary what a wonderful host she is.Would not hesitate to recommend this b and b to everyone .

This lovely establishment combines the wonderful old stone buildings of the original stables into an incredible modern and bright open space. The welcome is as warm and comfortable as the accommodation. You are certainly made to feel very much 'at home' from the moment you walk into the house. I would suggest that you ask for detailed directions when booking - the fact that the final 'road' has not got any marking means that you get very close BUT not quite there until you phone for directions.

Ferrymuir Stables was the first B&B we stayed in upon our arrival to Scotland. Mary's home is a gem and Mary, herself, the BEST hostess we met during our vacation. Her lodgings are top-notch and the "extras" that are provided to her guests in their rooms, fresh cut flowers, fresh fruit, water, chocolate bars, cookies besides the norm of tea and coffee.....UNBELIEVABLE...! After staying in 7 different B&B's throughout Scotland we would recommend Ferrymuir Stables, without hesitation, as the GOLD Ribbon Winner as an EXCEPTIONAL home away from home. Mary's breakfasts were varied and excellent and we SO enjoyed the seating arrangement of everybody at one table so that sharing information and socializing with other guests was made easy. Mary, you're the best.....! Hope to see you the next time you are in Paris.....

This is a fantastic B&B in Cupar. I needed somewhere comfortable to stay for a couple of days and Ferrymuir stables did not disappoint. Very comfortable and clean rooms with modern fittings. Breakfast was exceptional and the host (Mary) was very welcoming. It all made for a relaxing stay in an interesting and quite unique environment. I would definitely stay here again.

I was lucky enough to find this beautiful B+B (and to book early!!) as a home away from home while I participated in a family wedding nearby.

Despite her recent tragic loss in June, Mary welcomed me for a week in July with warmth and care, fabulous breakfasts and helpful personal touches that made sure that I had all that I needed (sticky tape and nail polish remover come to mind) to get on with my day.

I was welcomed to a home, with beautiful food, elegant and comfortable rooms all with views of the peaceful garden. But it felt like my home too. Mary was present but not intrusive, considerate and respectful. We had a walled garden and sun-flooded sitting room to sit and read, drink a coffee or plan our day. If I asked for an orange juice at the end of the day it arrived, ice cold and sweet, on a silver platter.

Ferrymuir Stables is a "class act". It was a wonderful experience staying there. I warmly recommend it to any visitor looking for the best in quality and comfort.

We have just returned from spending five nights at Ferrymuir and totally agree with all the positive comments on tripadvisor.co.uk. Mary and John are excellent hosts and strive to ensure their guests feel welcome to their stunning home, which is beautifully decorated and furnished and is immaculately kept, both inside and out.

Breakfasts are a feast with a wide choice of juices, cereals, breads and traditional cooked foods - try the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, delicious! - plus excellent coffee (the Nespresso machine is on order, Mary).

In your bedroom you'll find a fridge which has a supply of bottled water and chocolate bars and, of course, tea/coffee facilities plus a good selection of biscuits. And even plenty of coat hangers!

Bathrooms have excellent showers (always hot), a great selection of toiletries and towels are changed daily.

Mary and John are certainly in the right business and helped ensure we had a wonderful short break.

Room Tip: All of the rooms at Ferrymuir are of the same very high standard.
