The Guest House at Kames is LOVELY. We spent 7 nights with Craig and Morag in May. If you are planning a visit to the St. Andrews areas this is the guest house for you for many reasons.
First, Craig and Morag love Scotland and want to share all of its wonders. They know those inside secrets – the best restaurants no guide book details, the best driving routes for lovely seaside drives, the best fish and chips, when the trains run, where to shop, the best scotch distilleries and where and when to play golf .
Second – For Golfers –Craig knows almost every hole on almost every golf course in Scotland. Craig not only planned our golfing itinerary in the St. Andrews area, he also planned our itinerary for our 20 day stay in Scotland - and it was perfect. His knowledge of all the golf courses and his selection of hotels for us as we travel throughout were well planned and perfect. He booked us on the best courses and this was all achieved after we arrived at his guest house, which was an added bonus. We were able to discuss each option with a very knowledgeable Scot who is also an avid addicted golfer. (www.golfingthekingdom.com)
Third - The accommodations are very special, we had a lovely room overlooking the rolling fields of Fife, each morning we were greeted with this spectacular view. The room was spotless and all the extras, were there --- even a little nip of the famous single malt for the ending of the evening, homemade candy treats and Morag’s freshly backed cakes. The breakfasts where wonderful. The breakfast room was a lovely glass enclosed venue with those spectacular field views – fresh French press coffee, fresh fruit, juice- fresh squeezed of course, lovely pastries, a spectacular array of jams and terrific lemon curd and hot or cold cereals. Whether it was Craig’s day or Morag’s day as head chef, they each had a special touch resulting in a very delicious Scottish breakfast, sourced from local food providers --- the eggs, sausage and smoked poached haddock were the best.
Our stay at the Kames Guest House was the perfect beginning for our trip through Scotland. With the assistance of both Craig and Morag our days, after we left their company, were all a trip to Scotland should be. So --- begin you Scotland holiday and golfing adventure with a stay at the Guest House at Kames, with Craig and Morag as your hosts and travel/golfing planners.
