Anything you order here will fill you up. On Saturday mornings, the "gang" sets up for their music on the local radio station. There is "pik-ing & grinning" for more hours than you can imagine. They change out to eat and visit with customers. The Caboose has barbecue pork and chicken, and a whole lot more. After eating, take a stroll around the square--it is not very big--and visit the Country Store, with more Jack Daniels "stuff" that you will ever see. After, wander over to Jack Daniels Distillery for a tour with original "Jack" people. Buy a commemorative bottle of Jack to take home. But remember that this is a dry county!

We stop here quite often when we go to Lynchburg (we live 45 miles away). It's quirky and fun and the food has been consistently good for years. BBQ is nicely smoked and doesn't need added sauce, which is available on the table. The smoked chicken is tender and moist, which is great since boneless chicken breast tends to get very dry. .Plenty of sides to go with the sandwiches...from chips to baked beans to potato salad to red beans and rice (you can get these as a lunch by themselves). The homemade lemonade reminds me of what my mom used to make and is what I always get to drink. My favorite dessert at the Caboose is fudge pie...Southerners will understand when I say it's like a chocolate chess pie. Service is good and the food comes out pretty fast. The servers are very attentive and will check on you quite often. When we need to get out on the motorcycle and get away for a few hours, Lynchburg and BBQ Caboose are our *go to* places.

The food hit the spot after I was really hungry. Very delicious! Antiques above while you eat and writing on the ceiling. Very nice. Also the owner personally asked how I was doing. Good service
