We stopped on the way to Edinburgh at the visitors centre to view the structure that has been and still is used daily by trains. There is a good view of the bridge from the viewing area as to get close to it you would never get it all in to the photo. There are free toilets available there.

Impressive bridge to see by night. Our friends got married with the bridge in the background, beautiful pictures. Queens ferry itself is very quaint.

One of those things you mean to do, well we finally walked the bridge from south to north. A really nice walk with lovely scenery, lots of photo opportunities. What a pity you can only go and come back on one side, the expereince would have been enhanced had both walkways been opened. This would have allowed much better views of the work on the new bridge.
We popped in to the hotel on hte north side for a coffee and cake - not well publicised at all but turned out to be very very affordable and lovely views away from the breeze.

I went over the bridge on the train to North Queensferry and the views are amazing. For photographers looking for interesting angles, I would recommend getting off at North Queensferry and walking down the hill for some good photos of the structure.

Loud and shoogly(!) but great views up and down the river. There's a path for pedestrians and one for cyclists.
