The Greannan Bed & Breakfast
Reviewed 10 August 2013

My friend and I arrived at The Greannan around 9pm on a wet and dismal evening. we were welcomed and shown to our rooms, both of which were very spacious, the beds super comfortable. Having requested water, we were each given 2 bottles of sparkling water- perfect. Outside the rooms was a bookcase- very handy for reading material in bed! The bathrooms were very clean and there were some nice toiletries. Next morning we had a huge breakfast. I had the veggie option and was delighted with it. We set off down the hill to take the bus to Brodick from the very picturesque bay. Cannot comment on the local eateries as we arrived too late to dine. Would definitely recommend this B and B,

Just spent 4 nights in this lovely B&B on the west coast of Arran. Janice and Susan were very welcoming, and made us feel very at home. Breakfasts were excellent, and we were grateful for the use of the dining room as a base in the evening where we could all meet up. A bit disappointed with the local eateries in Blackwaterfoot. Felicities (at the local golf club) was great for lunchtime snacks, but at the time of our visit was only open in the evenings at weekends. This left the Kinloch hotel, where the food was questionable. This meant a trek to other parts of the island to get something in the evenings, which also didn't go well at times!

The Greannan is a first class establishment with wonderful views in every direction.
The rooms are exceptional and breakfast is flexible and prepared for each guest individually.
Good value for money and within an easy walk or two minute drive to the sea and local services, including two excellent restaurants, with one located in the modern Golf Club and the other, in the large Hotel. We were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next in about three weeks time.

Room Tip: Worth checking if you want a Sea or Mountain view, most have sea views.

We stayed two nights at the Greannan Inn and we loved our stay. The place is charming (just like the isle), the room is comfortable and clean and we had a complete breakfast in the morning. The place is easy to find thought there's not much to do around it. You must take the car and go to Brodick or visit the distillery at Lochranza for example. Be aware that the only restaurant in this little town is at the Best Western hotel and the kitchen is closing at nine. We would definitely return at the Greannan Inn for another stay if we come back one day!

A friend and I spent four nights in this friendly, family-run B&B. Excellent breakfasts, and we were welcome to spend time in the breakfast room (well-stocked with books, TV and WiFi) whenever we liked. The location is scenic and convenient and our room was comfortable. The building is historic with an interesting past, but with modern fittings, and we enjoyed our time there very much.

Have used this B&B several times.Friendly. No scrimping on breakfasts. Fresh fruit, (I'm afraid I pinched all their bananas, apples & oranges to keep me cycling, - er.. sorry, so thought I'd do this review to make up), also yogurt, fruit juice ( juice jugs refilled automatically), loadsa cereals & muesli all factory wrapped, porridge, as much toast (brown or white) as I wanted, THEN came their full Scottish breakfast or any variety I wanted and if you have special requests (I am vegetarian) they really supply anything, just give them notice. My meat eating partner loves the sausages & bacon supplied by the local butchers. Their own hens.My granny there last summer (not cycling)! said the last eggs she tasted like that was before the Clydebank blitz! Off road private parking and the family locked our bikes in their shed overnight altho' they did say there is no crime on Arran, hard to beleive nowadays. Seaviews. Large well kept garden. Rooms big, well furnished, clean white towels. Another good thing I liked, the family are Arran born & bred so always give us the best insider info on where to eat, visit etc. each time we go.

Room Tip: Room 3 seems to be their biggest & among best views.

I stayed at this lovely Bed and Breakfast last year for a week. We had a double en-suite room that was HUGE compared to any other b&b we had stayed in. Views to the sea and across the valley could be seen from our bay window. The staff were very helpful and friendly - especially when we returned from a walk and all our jackets were soaking they dried them over night for us. The B & B is in a great loaction very close to the beach and golf course. Very clean and breakfast was lovely. We have booked up for another week this year!

Room Tip: Room 3 has the gorgeous bay window with views to die for!
