Between the creaky floor boards, Monday building noise at 8am and family orientated spa and Bistro - this was not the relaxing spa break we were sold.
Our room was very spacious with all the mod cons you expect (although no better than those in a "high street" hotel). Upon checking in we went to our room to decide on a plan for our two days. We decided to have a day in the spa and dinner in Brambles. We were told the spa was fully booked for the duration of our stay (other than 2 desperate 30 min slots at 9am on the Monday) and we could only get into Brambles at 9.15pm. We accepted the late reservation and decided to watch the rugby in cruize (the only telly other than those in the rooms) rather than using the spa. The less I say about Cruize the better. Service was awful and they tried to overcharge me all afternoon. After the forth correction to charges (and invasion of 4 year olds) we retreated to our room.
Dinner in Brambles was special. One of the nicest meals I've had (so I'll forget they hadn't booked us in resulting in blind panic from the manager and wait to be seated).
I can not put it more plainly than do not use the leisure facilities if you want to relax. It was a kid zone. Again fine but not on my 4 star SPA break which I have been longing for.

This was our second time at the Auchrannie. The staff were as welcoming as we remembered and we were afforded every courtacy. The room was perfect, clean and warm also great shower. We made use of the two restaurants and enjoyed some great food.

Spent 2 nights in the country house, was told the hotel was fully booked, if it was u would never have known. Very quiet and relaxing , very well decorated with a modern scottish feel.
Rooms were Great bathrooms very modern and very clean throughout bottles of water supplyed in mimi bar free of charge , and doggie treats in the room, even though we didnt take the dog..... obviously a room for dogs but we would never have known if not for the treats, will defo return with
The mutt, they have a special door for dogs with dog towels ... nice touch. Food in both restaurants was very good but the sea food grill was excellent , I have spent hours on a plane to have steak as good as I had at the grill , cooked perfectly as I asked , was around £80 for 2 with fillet , sirloin topped with scallops and prawns one with chips and one with lovely mustard mash, and onion rings, 1 starter king prawn tempura and 1 desert (3 scoops of ice cream) , helped down with a couple of halfs.in my opinion very good value.
We also visited the spa ... very good, quite expensive tho, the spa is defo 5 star but the other leisure facilities let it down a bit, Didnt stop the misses going back for more on the last day and I was able to use the pool ,sauna and steam room till 5pm even though we checked out at 11am, again nice touch.

We will be back with our hound asap

First time visit, just for one night but already organising a longer break as we loved it so much! Stayed in the spa resort, rooms as beautiful, very clean and huge!! Ate in Cruize Restaurant, food was delicious and very well priced. Ended our night off next to a roaring log fire and a nice Arran gold coffee. Also visited the spa which was just perfect. Don't think twice about booking here, it really does live up to the hype! We will definitely be back in the summer time!

This place was fantastic! My boyfriend and I went for a mid week mini break of just one night. This was not nearly enough time! The Resort is beautiful and the staff are exceptionally friendly. We arrived at the Lodge reception since that was were I booked, but we had been upgraded to the Spa building. It was so lovely and much more then we had anticipated. The room was first class! The Cruz restaurant was very nice and quiet due to the time of year. The food was delicious and the servers very friendy! We didn't use any of the Spa or Leisure facilities since we were there to hike (and we didn't bring swimwear). I can't wait to go back for a longer period of time!

Excellent hotel. I stayed awhile back and it didn't go well due to circumstances beyond everyone's control. The hotel made it right with this stay and overall it was a great experience. Will be back without doubt.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
At the heart of the beautiful isle of Arran lies the multi-award winning, family owned Auchrannie Resort. Auchrannie now consists of two four star hotels; the romantic and relaxing ‘House Hotel’ catering for couples and those wanting a more intimate experience whilst the contemporary ‘Spa Resort’ is popular with families and those prefer a more modern feel to their surroundings. In addition, the resort features 30 five-star self-catering lodges (sleeping up to 8 in total luxury and therefore perfect for the extended family), 3 outstanding, award winning restaurants and bars, 2 leisure centres both with pools, destination spa featuring treatments by ESPA and Ishga and an outdoor adventure centre. Arran is Scotland’s most accessible islands, often referred to as "Scotland in Miniature” due to the dramatic contrast between the hills and mountains in the north, and sweeping moorlands on the south of the island. A short 55 minute ferry journey off the Ayrshire coast, Arran is easily reachable by those arriving into any of central Scotland’s main airports as well as those travelling by car, train and coach. Whilst many tourists arrive on the island simply to kick back and relax, the island is packed with attractions and sights for visitors of all ages. ... more   less
