If the barman smiled (even once) then the Catacol Bay would be a much more welcoming place to visit. The beer and food are decent enough but the bar staff appear disinterested in really giving top class service. Whilst the food and views make up for the barstaff a few smiles might not go amiss. And, oh yes, whatch the dog crap as the enter the hotel especially the mounds near the space where you park your bikes.

I took some friends there after visiting some years ago.
Some real ales but pricey £12.35 for three pints!
The girls wouldn't eat in it.
Nor let the children play on the rather dangerous looking play park things.
Didn't seem at all appealing so we moved on.
Needs work!

Yes, the place is very tired, sad and run down. Its like they are stuggling to carry on, you can feel the sadness for some reason. There was a strange atmosphere, where everyone seemed to look at you as you squeezed past them. However we went on a Sunday there was a buffet with a full salmon on the table. You collect your tickets at the bar (it reminded me of a pea pie and chips, old fashion social evening in a Yorkshire club), then you go into the eating room and it is £9.95 for pensioners and you can eat as much as you like. (there is no indication you have to collect and pay for tickets from the bar)The food was OK, and served by a Yorkshire male ?. There was a girl serving who looked like she did not want to be there and had to be told what to do, but on the whole the meal was OK and plenty of it. Good old fashioned food. The toilets leave a lot to be desired though, it needs some help around the place. Good views across the bay if you can get a table seat with a view. The place inside is small and a bit squashed.... There is a small uneaven car park.. We feel sorry for this place, and staff spruced up it would look better.. They need some help to let their talents shine further...
