“Interesting Blend of new and old”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 September 2013 via mobile

Mike was our guide and he did a nice job of guiding us through Glen Grant. There is a funny video of "The Major" and the history of the distillery...at least we thought it was funny. There's a nice coffee shop on the grounds.
Also, the best part is the tour price is only £3.50 and at the end of the tour you sit down in front of a bottle of whisky and they say "have as much as you want" and they mean it! How cool is that?!

“Lovely distillery”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 August 2013 via mobile

I went here as a way of passing the time one day and was pleasantly surprised. Stunning distillery (like its own miniature town) and extremely knowledgeable guide. There was no production at the time which actually made it easier to get all the information as the guide wasn't battling with the noise of the distillery.

The film at the end was slightly too drawn out for my liking, but everyone has their own opinion on that. And I enjoyed the setting for the dramming as well. Very comfortable surroundings indeed.

“A beautiful place to visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2013

My wife and I visited the distillery and just missed the tour, but walked the grounds which are beautiful. The visitor center is lovely with a nice seating area outside. The company store is very charming and the tasting area is one of the nicest we've seem since traveling around Scotland visiting distilleries.

“Glen Grant Distillery and Visitor Centre”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2013

This was an excellent experience. We were at the distillery for two and half hours. it was excellent value for money at £3.50 which included two drams of Glen Grant. We sampled both five year old and a ten year old single malts. The tour guides were both welcoming and genuine in their engagement with us and detailed and knowledgeable about the subject. The garden was a great bonus. We did not see a video as others have described but were able to see the new bottling hall which puts in context the whole process from grain coming into the plant to bottles going out. If you are doing the whisky trail then put this distillery on your itinerary.

“Fairly good, but have seen better”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2013

Visited this distillery while passing from Elgin to Dufftown, even though had to wait about 45 minutes to get started, so at least had something in their cafe - okay but nothing much. I must admit the landscaping is well done, even though we could not really appreciate it for all the snow we had. The tour itself - well, they will get the history across, but for distilling itself, quite average. In the still house they will point out the purifiers just off the lyne arms, and you will be shown a bit inside their warehouse. Good thing photography is allowed, except the warehouse. Before the tasting there is a video in one of the buildings, trying to invoke a cinema-like experience, but I'd say it's more about various trivia surrounding the original owners. Finally, we had our tastings, and could help ourselves with either a Major's Reserve or a 10yo. While quite good in a certain way, I know even better distillery tours. 7.8 / 10
