“birthday lunch”
Reviewed 14 April 2014

What a beautiful place, The decor is stunning and a really smart hotel, but sadly i honestly could not say the same for the food. Our group had a good meal here last year and it was fine but not now . We recently had lunch and were so dissappointed. Not one of our group finished the meal and staff who were courteous and polite were informed that we did not enjoy our meal.
There was no apology from the staff or no reduction on the bill. We wont be rushing back here.

Stayed here for one night 15th february with my son and one of my looked after children, after having to move from the Old Mill Motherwell(dont go near It) The Moorings Hotel was absolutely stunning , immaculate and really friendly. The rooms were beautiful and the restuartant was amazing . Great service all round would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE MOORINGS HOTEL also the staff in the restuarant were really nice , the girls that done the breakfast were so friendly and chatty and made us so welcome

Room Tip: The whole hotel has a lovely atmosphere when you walk in , it is spotless and the resturant is well...

Our family had dinner here Monday 3rd March. The first impression was one of welcome and spaciousness in the dining room. We were served by attentive staff who were well informed about the contents of the menu. The menu was varied and provided good choices. Our meals came promptly and were well presented and carefully prepared, care had been taken to ensure that each plate had been prepared just prior to delivery. The onion rings were outstanding. Well done!! A new addition to our dining repertoire.

My partner and I visited this hotel for a meal which was horrendous. Staff have horrible table manners, sit around the bar drinking tea/coffee and chatting instead of 'working'. We waited10/15 mins for someone to come and take our order, when the food eventually came it was cold and my partner ended up with a dodgy stomach. We were also given dirty cutlery which had to be replaced twice! When asked for the bill it came about 20 minutes later and we were charged for drinks we didn't have. The "manager" was very unhelpful, no apology..nothing! He couldn't rush us out the door fast enough. Would I go back here? - never again. Would I recommend anyone to dine here? No!

This hotel is good for quickly sleeping.
The rooms are nice and big, but it is for them to see the wear.
Hotel is in a good location. The neighborhood is very nice and quiet outside the center. Walk you but you will buy for 2 minutes.
The restaurant is good, too.
The staff was friendly and helpful (I immediately slammed the card from the room inside the room)

Myself and 3 others came here for dinner last week, service was good, no long waits etc, food was served and everything looked great, till i tried a piece of my girlfriends steak and it was cold, cold as in no heat at all, she'd already ate half of it before I suggested she send it back, the 2nd one came and was piping hot. We all enjoyed our meal with no complaints. Upon the arrival of the £93 bill for 4 meals and a drink each we asked the waiter if he was going to do anything with the price of the steak and he returned with an amended bill minus the cost of it, I'd prob go back again. Lovely surroundings and decor too, spotless toilets!

My Gran lives on Hamilton road so when I am travelling up from London and I can't stay at hers it makes sense for me to stay at the Moorings Hotel. I've stayed here on 2 or 3 occasions but will always return back to this hotel if it is available. Other hotels in the area are not the high standard of the Moorings is. I't very clean, well decorated and the staff are always very welcoming. The bar/food area is great and you're always guaranteed a great breakfast. It is in a great location, only a 5-10 minute walk to the station and high street. Motherwell is also a great spot to travel by train to either Edinburgh or Glasgow. The rooms are spacious and big enough for two people. If you're travelling to Motherwell and need a hotel the Moorings is the best choice for comfort and style.
