“A most enjoyable stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 August 2014

Two night stay for my wife and I on a DB&B basis. The hotel was one of the nicest we have stayed in. The room was clean, comfortable and just about perfect for a two night stay. What made our stay was the food; all meals had were of a very very high standard and I would most definitely recommend the restaurant.

Two minor issues stopped this getting an excellent rating.

I do like a bath rather than a shower and this hotel had no baths.

On our second night the chef ran out of a couple of things on the menu; I thought that was rather poor for such a good hotel; not that it ruined our evening. It was just disappointing to hear the staff greet you with an apology.

I would indeed stay at this hotel again on the same basis.

There is always a good welcome at the Dakota, with a very stylish decor and very attentive staff. Though the food served in the restaurant may not be a generous size you will have to go a long way to find better quality.

Was in the area on business so booked in for a 4 night stay. The check in service was efficient and quick and I was given a free refreshment drink during the check in process, a nice touch.

The room was of a good size, was well designed, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. In you room there is a jar with some cookies in and a lovely selection of tea and coffee, all organic decaf and non decaf.

The bathroom is of a contemporary design, good size and again spotless. There is no bath however the walk in shower is huge and contains a large ceiling rain shower head as well as a hand held shower head, good water pressure and instantly hot water.

Along with the tea, coffee and cookies the room also contains a iron and ironing board, comfy chair and easy to use air conditioning.

There is a gym on site although small, it contains enough equipment to see anyone through a tough workout.

The hotel also provides free wifi and it is of a fast standard and would allow streaming from Netflix, and also my sky go account with no buffering or glitches.

Breakfast is fantastic with a large selection of continental items and also cooked breakfasts, I would recommend the eggs benedict, that was delicious.

I ate in the restaurant each night and the food was always piping hot and freshly cooked. The pea and ham soup as well as the parfait were delicious. For main I would recommend the lamb and summer veg which was especially good.

All round a great hotel it isn't in the centre of town which isn't a bad thing, the staff are great and well drilled in efficiency and very professional I would recommend this place to anyone it's very relaxing, inviting and very well run.

Room Tip: All rooms seem particularly good

The room was clean and contemporary and the massive cushion on the bed that I initially had down as a gimmick, was actually really useful to lean against to sit comfortably for a bit of telly.

All mod cons in the room; tea and coffee, ironing board, and most importantly plenty of plug sockets, but none near the bed. Bathroom was clean and tidy and the rain shower a luxury at the end of the day.

I use room service quite a bit and a £5 tray fee was a bit steep compared to most. Didn't try out the restaurant or bar due to a short and busy trip but they looked well stocked and appealing.

The estate the hotel is on is well outside of Glasgow and is on a posh trading estate, so unless you've planned to do activities nearby there's not a lot to do in the surrounding area that I could see. It cost around £45 in a taxi fair from Glasgow airport to the hotel so it may be worth exploring alternative public transport if it's available.

Overall it was useful location for my work (on the estate) and the facilities and service were good.

Booked by the company we were contracting for. Out of town and difficult to find on our sat nav, first ended up on a housing estate and then we could see it from afar, but were unable to drive there. Eventually arrived after help from reception by calling them.
Lovely contemporary reception and bar area. Quite often the décor and finish does not go through to the bedrooms, however we were not disappointed.
Never ate as arrived very late and had to leave very early, but the restaurant and menu looked great.
Reception staff were great after a mix up with our booking (our party's fault, not theirs) and helped us sort it out.
I would love to come back and spend more time here rather than just a place to lay my head and run off!

Lovely place to catch up with friends over a coffee in very plush surroundings. There is a choice of seating areas but it can be very busy with business meetings etc. overall easy to get to and from and would recommend for a catch up
