“Good day out!”

M & D's Scotlands Theme Park
Reviewed 3 weeks ago via mobile

We had some family visit from down South so decided with 3 teenagers, 2 babies and 4 adults that we would visit M&D’s as everyone would get suited. Parking was great with lots of it but the park and entrance were not buggy friendly. Couldn’t find a ramp anywhere and often we had to lift the buggies up and down stairs.
Wristband are quite pricey, however the teenagers with us got more than their money’s worth so no real complaints. Lots of eateries to choose from and lots to do so everyone had a great day. Being heavily pregnant I managed to find a seat and watch the world go by me......have to say the slushies were amazing!! Would definitely go back and investigate some more.

We visited here with a group of friends and our children ranging from age 2-9 years old. We arrived early and spent the whole day here easily, there is plenty of rides for younger children which was great and they could go on again and again. Luckily the queues were quiet for getting on rides, we visited on a hot Saturday. The park has plenty f car parking spaces, you can buy tickets there or online. Or you can buy tickets for each ride rather than a wristband for the day. I have read lots about rides breaking down but luckily all worked for us. The log flume, big swings and balloon rides were a hit. Lovely views on the big wheel. We visited Amazonia but this was a waste of money only took us 5 mins to walk around and we didn’t see much which was a shame. Plus kids just wanted to go on the rides. Inside there are arcade machines but we didn’t use any of these. This is were the toilets are also, I think the park would benefit from having toilets at both ends of the park rather than just the one. Park was clean and easy to get around even with buggy’s. I didn’t eat here so not sure about food as we took picnics. We got an ice cream from the van which was great and big portions. Staff ok, not the cheeriest but didn’t bother us. We would return with friends again on a nice day. I reviewed the park average as other larger parks are much much better for similar price.

This place is like a throw back to 80's theme parks only it's one price all in. Me and my girlfriend went on a Sunday. The weather was terrific, the queues reasonable and yes some rides finished early but we got this voucher deal that included mini golf with the tickets and the whole day was great.
Topped it off with Turkish delight flavoured ice cream from the coffee shop. Free parking too, will visit again.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon, opted for the family ticket, three adults and one child, price included all rides, mini golf and entry to the Amazon hut. It was a nice day which helped, I imagine it would be quite grim in bad weather. The whole place is a bit run down, every area needs a spruce up, the big roller coaster was out of order, the other rides were fun and the wait lines were ok. The rides themselves were really quick, on and off before you knew it. The 11 year old we were with didn't care it was run down he was happy as Larry and loved all the rides. Most of the staff did not seem so happy to be there, on eye contact, barely a greeting or anything word or smile from any of them outside, the Amazon staff were more friendly. Maybe it was Just a hot day and they were busy and tired. We got hot dogs which were ok, cheap and cheerful. The Amazon hut is not large, it's a small space, a few butterflies flying around, ants, small monkeys, fish, turtles and other small animals, it passes about 20min. This area could also benefit from some investment. If money was spent to get the park up to scratch it would draw in more crowds just from word of mouth. All in all it's good fun and you can spin it out to get your moneys worth if you don't mind the appearance and take it for what it is then i can think of worse places to spend a sat afternoon.
