Had been meaning to go here for a while and had the chance to today.
Detailed and interesting exhibits, with one on Orkney's links to the Sikh community, another about John Rae a local Arctic Explorer, and others about the sailing history of the area. Upstairs, (accessible by stairlift for those unable to manage the stairs) there is a comprehensive Natural History exhibition, with many interesting exhibits.
The lower ground floor is not accessible by the infirm (due to no stair lift) and contains an exhibition on Orkney's whaling links, and a show 'Captain's Cabin' with many model craft.
Overall a very interesting hour spent, and especially good for a wet day in the town.
The entrance fee of £4.50 is well worth it is valid for 7 days.
