an excellent journey, the ship was very comfortable and clean and the captain slowed down so we could all see The Old Man of Hoy and the cliffs. Very efficiently loaded and unloaded the cars, A great journey.

As a frequent traveller in the Western ilses and the Northern isles let me recommend Norhtlink Ferries Scrabster to Stromness on MS Hamnavoe .. what a superb ship with a crew to match If youi are lucky enough to have a sunny day across the Pentland Firth then this is the way to go with superb views of The Old Man of Hoy and the Hoy Coast line

Our first time on a big car ferry!! I had visions trying to reverse out of tight spaces to get off - no such nonsense! The organisation from the vehicle check-in to finally driving off the ferry was so efficient and the staff so helpful that it was a very pleasant experience all in all. The passenger facilities are excellent and the ship is very clean. Had we known all this, we would have rather booked an overnight berth and had breakfast on board, rather than staying in Thurso.
It's good value for money and worth taking the car over rather than leaving it in the long term parking at Scrabster - and it saves hassling about hiring another vehicle on Orkney.

Recently travelled from Aberdeen to Lerwick and had a good experience on both trips. The company are very organised when getting you on & off the ferry (we were in our car). We opted for a Premium outside cabin which included entrance to the 'Magnus lounge. It is supposed to be a quiet area set aside from the rest of the ferry. However, on both occasions the door to the lounge were left open and as the Magnus Lounge is situated opposite one of the ferries regular bar areas, the noise from there came through the open door, which meant that it wasn't quiet at all. On the outward journey, the staff were very lax checking our Magnus Pass (meaning anyone could have come in) and on the return journey the opposite was the case. The cabin was clean and comfy and the food on board very good. I understand that it was only a one night crossing but it would have been nice if the ferry had more 'quiet' areas.

We travelled on the Aberdeen to Lerwick and Kirkwall route and were so impressed with these ferries! We had outside two berth cabins, which were roomy, comfortable and spotlessly clean, and we slept very well each time. The ferries are very modern, with loads of facilities but what make them special are the staff who actually look pleased to see you and can't do enough to help. We all agreed they were the best ferries we had ever been on :)
