“Best location and accommodation we have stayed in a long time”
Reviewed 3 September 2018 for a stay in August 2018

Lenahowe Lodge, Orkney Islands. With coming from the Island anyway, the Lodge is situated in a beautiful and idilic location, and is perfect for Fishing and sight seeing all around the Island. The accommodation itself is very spacious and is well laid out and is finished to a high standard. Our stay there was perfect and was handy for visiting family and friends and we didn't want to leave. Thank you very much for making us feel at home and welcome.
Thanks again Colin & Sharon Shillito

“More than a holiday, it feels like a home!”
Reviewed 13 March 2018 for a stay in June 2016

Firstly, If you haven't been to Orkney, it is a must visit! Great for families and plenty to do and see for all! Ive stayed at a few places in Orkney but Lenahowe is by far the best place I have stayed! Right on Harry Loch, close to Birsay, beaches, kirkwall and Stromness! My husband loves trouting in the loch and the kids love the farm beside the lodge. The family which owns the lodge is so friendly and took us around the farm! The kids loved the tour around the farm, especially feeding the pet lambs! Honestly our favourite place to visit and I am sure it will be yours too! Take rubber boots in case it rains because the road can become muddy!

Felt like I was living in luxury during my visit! So clean and roomy and not too far from the gorgeous scenery and tourist attractions all around.
Everything functioned superbly. I'll definitely be back!

“I'd Stay Here Again In A Heartbeat!”
Reviewed 14 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We were looking for a central location to explore the Orkney Island and this is IT! You are only minutes away from some of Orkney's greatest sights and this location has everything you need. The first thing that impressed us was the heated floors! What a blessing on a cool windy day (Everyday on Orkney). The place is well appointed for everything you may do. Two very well appointed bathrooms and bedrooms with TVs in every room. The living room has a large TV and DVD player as well, and comfortable couches and an electric fireplace with lots of heat output if needed, There is also a "mud room" (good if you have a wet dirty dog or wet dirty clothes from adventuring) and washer/dryer room for dirty clothes. The Lodge is located on an active farm, but it isn't that close to the farm buildings so you can't really tell! There are no signs or directions that get you to the Lodge, so you really need to call or ask to find out where it is. My GPS gives the coordinates as N 59.01.750 W 003.15.299, as well, my GPS shows the Lodge located just east of Tenston on the Tenston road. I hope that helps! When we arrived, (a party of 4) the door was open and we were soon greeted by Fiona. She was extremely helpful with lots of local knowledge about what to see and where to eat. They do allow dogs in the lower lodge (where we stayed) but I was also forthcoming in letting Fiona know that we were indeed bringing a pooch! Payment was done ahead of time, all on Trip Advisor and that part was simple. Once again, this is THE place to stay in Orkney and it is central to tons of historic stone circles and neolithic places.

Thank you Mike, I'm so glad you and your family found our lodges a good location to explore from. We do try to make our guests as comfortable as possible even if the Orkney weather is not always so obliging!
