Great location and stunning scenery, however the hotel is a separate building from the leisure and restaurants. Our room was supposed to be a superior room,tv didn't work, neither did wifi, no reply to reception and night porter was away doing his rounds when we checked.Going to bed the sheets had holes them, don't think we would go back.

This resort I'd situated near wonderful walking and golfing amenities. We were there for Xmas and enjoyed the ceilidh on Xmas Eve. The food was plentiful however it was over cooked and the meat quite tough.
The apartments are old and need modern amenities such as a dish washer and the bathrooms need work. Enjoyable but not outstanding

Stayed on travelzoo voucher so good value. V family friendly but not ideal for couples as quite few kids in pool. Restaurant basic but good value. Staff lovely except first English lady I phoned to enquire with (v rude). Spa treatment excellent and really good value.

We visited Moness having purchased a groupon voucher. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. Our cottage however was a little "tired". There was a smell of damp on arrival and indeed there was two patches of damp in the cottage. That aside the cottage was warm and well equipped.

The Hotel itself was nice enough but we felt it lacked a nice separate area to have a drink. The choices were, in the "cafe" style restaurant, or what was effectively a games room/creche.

Good value for money, but wouldn't have been happy had we paid full price.

We arrived for a midweek stay an hour earlier than check in opened and were welcomed immediately. The lady who checked us in was very quick and efficient and explained the facilities to us. She did not however properly explain the charge payable on arrival as a deposit (£100) which will be returned at some time in the future? We were staying on a groupon deal in a 'luxury cottage'. We drove past some lovely looking cottages and I was disappointed when we found out we were in the Courtyard Complex of terraced cottages. However I was pleasantly surprised by the cottage and my intial disappointment vanished. Downstairs we had a bedroom and bathroom, with bath and upstairs we had a well equipped open plan living room/kitchen. The kitchen was well stocked with pans and plates and utensils (apart from a cheese grater!) but unfortunately had an electric hob. The TV was very hard to use but once turned on had a good picture. There was a also a DVD player if you wished. Free wi-fi was also a good addition. We did not eat in either restaurant or use the leisure facilities, but would definitely recommend the cottages to friends and relatives. As it is winter we felt like we were alone which was good for a romantic pre-Christmas break!

We booked a short break in a de luxe room with a Groupon voucher as a test for a longer break next year. The room was small and cramped with only one shelf for clothes in the wardrobe, one small armchair and one upright chair at the desk/dressing table. In hot weather it will be stuffy with no air con and a window that only opens a few inches. Sleep was disturbed by the large permanently illuminated Emergency Exit sign over the door; is this really necessary in such a small room? Staff were efficient but unwelcoming. Checkout was the first time anyone asked if everything was OK; surprised at our 'disappointed' response. Breakfast buffet was luke warm. Pool is tiny.

Location is excellent. We shall come to the area next year but stay elsewhere.

We have just returned from Moness, after a weekend visit to celebrate a significant birthday. There were 8 of us, and we had booked two 2 bedroom/2 bathroom cottages, and the Festive party night.

The cottages were brilliant, spotless, spacious with fully equipped kitchens. The beds were huge, maybe not the most comfortable, as I found mine a bit too firm, but no one else complained about theirs, so, it is down to personal taste.

We did have to pay extra for heating, but, we did not stint on that, as it was freezing outside, and we kept the heating on all night. The cottages heated up very quickly, and stayed warm. We were certainly not cold, and the cost was about £10 for the weekend.

We found the staff at Moness were delightful, and extremely helpful. They was always a smile and a cheery word. They really could not have done any more for us. Contrary to other reviews that we have read, everything was explained from checking in, and if we had a request, they did everything they could to fulfil it, or resolve it.

We found breakfast was very good indeed. There was everything there, or on offer in the menu and it was freshly cooked for the buffet, as they brought more in from the kitchen when supplies ran out. You could eat as much as you wanted to. And service was prompt, friendly and efficient.

The Xmas/Festive/Party evening was run very efficiently. The food was very good and plentiful and arrived hot, on hot plates. At 9, the DJ started, and played excellent music, and he was also a very good singer. We had a marvellous evening. My only regret was that more of the guests from the resort had not turned up to support the efforts of the Hotel. I am sure that they would have had a really fun evening dancing the night away, instead of watching TV in their rooms all night, which they could do at home. After all, it will soon be Xmas. The Hotel had put on a great evening...and we made the most of it.

We stayed in Jackdaw and Osprey cottages. Both were excellent, and we could not hear any noise from neighbouring cottages. The resort itself was very peaceful, and is in a lovely location. We did not use the pool or spa, but, I they looked great.

Would I come back again to Moness? Yes I would.
Would I recommend it to others? Yes I would.
We thought it was very good value for money.

Room Tip: We were in the Courtyard, and have no complaints about any of the cottages there. Very spacious.
