My wife and I recently spent 8 nights at Braes Lodge during a 3-week 4-location holiday in Scotland. The Lodge is beautifully designed and furnished, extremely well-equipped, was spotlessly clean and is superbly located only 300 metres or so from Loch Kinardochy, with stunning views over the loch and of the forests and mountains. The owners (Mandy & Ian) live next door and couldn't have been more helpful. The Lodge's location makes it a perfect base for touring highland Perthshire and there are some wonderful drives/walks in the area - we'd recommend drives through Glen Lyon, Glen Quaich and around Loch Tummel and Loch Rannoch. And the Courtyard Restaurant at Mains of Taymouth (just 5 miles or so down the road at Kenmore) offers excellent food at very reasonable prices throughout the day. But, as a wildlife and landscape photographer, the highlight for me was spending the evenings on the Lodge's covered balcony watching and photographing the sunsets and swirling mists over the loch and seeing Ospreys flying over and diving into the water in their quest for an evening meal - just superb!

We visited Braes Lodge to celebrate a birthday. The lodge exceeded expectations - beautiful, immaculate and contains everything you need for a short break, the owners have thought of everything! The log fire and hottub were definitely the highlights, and the surroundings stunning. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to get away for a treat!
Fantastic lodge fully equipped with everything you could ever need from jackets and wellies, Bose sound dock, blu ray / DVD player, all kitchen utensils and appliances and best of all a hot tub on the decking. We were away for our first anniversary and the setting was incredibly idyllic. The location was perfect for us, as the lodge was suitably in the middle of nowhere (which we wanted) with relatively short drives to plenty of walks and activities. The welcome basket was cracking, loads of nice and varied stuff in there. There was definitely a personal touch to it all, eg the welcome basket and we were able to borrow an iPhone charger (may sound silly but all very accomodating). Very modern. Would highly recommend for couples looking for a relaxing stay, with plenty opportunities to hill walk, quad bike, boating among many other activities nearby. Great stay for our first anniversary
