From the moment we pulled up in our car the service was incredibly slick. Our bags were taken out and the car drive off to be parked within minutes. We were walked to the reception desk and then the receptionist walked us to our room and showed us all the features. Room was in the new block, extremely spacious, beautifully presented and with a private patio overlooking the putting green. Ate in Deseo - food very good and all the staff were charming. Had coffee in the main bar - again greeted at the door, taken to a table and served within minutes. Had a manicure at the beauty salon which was excellent. Shopped in the arcade and in particular the ladies at the Dunhill outlet were mazing and friendly. Needless to say my husband ended up buying a jacket! Went shooting in the most horrendous weather and completely ill dressed for the event but not a problem as the shooting school had a plethora of jackets and wellies for our use. Ate in Andrew Fairlie restaurant - outstanding and worth a visit without a doubt. Breakfast was a pleasant affair also with a super buffet and very pleasant dining room. Gleneagles is truly an international five star establishment and you get what you pay for. Slick and efficient but with a real charm and friendliness thrown in. The difference between Gleneagles and other hotels is that their staff engage with guests rather than just serving them and they make you feel truly welcome. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms in the new block open onto a private patio overlooking the putting green.

July 14th beutiful afternoon, gardens with begonias etc looking excetional 31persons enter Gleneagles hotel and into one of the private dining rooms table laid for 31, which incuded great nieces and nephews, sisters and brother-inlaws and many dear friends and inlaws etc. The table with the floral decor was perfect the afternoon tea including plenty of fizz went on and on really do not know where we managed to put all including fancies, scones clotted cream, tea, coffee and more fizz, included in this an amazing singer called Mike Ellicot, to serenade us. the staff were great and could not have been more helpful. Many thanks to Gleneagles for making her day one to remember 10 out of 10

We started with high tea in the Bar. Massive portions and excellent standard, make sure you come hungry! Followed on with spa walking tour of the expansive grounds. we were so impressed with facilities we decided to book a polo lesson. Having only sat on a horse once before I can highly recommend the teacher who was excellent and got us playing a little match at the end of the session! Extremely enjoyable experience

Unfortunate the outdoor hot tub was under renovation but we stayed in an estate room - bit unfortunate that we could hear all the voices and traffic as it is adjacent to the main entrance but the room size was great, the bed very comfortable and generally rather grand!

Room Tip: Estate rooms are adjacent to the main entrance, good for people watching but can get slightly noisy...

Stayed for a week in March. Wonderful place, stunning location, amazing bar and the best cocktails! The friendly staff can't do enough for you. The team at Gleneagles really do make the stay even more pleasurable. The Spa is, as ever, top notch and we enjoyed numerous treatments there during the week.

Dined in the Strathearn, and the wonderful Andrew Fairlie restaurant. If you can get a reservation at Andrew Fairlie's two Michelin star restaurant, then do go - the quality of the food and service is just wonderful. The Menu Degustation is fab and introduces you to textures and tastes that you may otherwise not have chosen. This was our second meal at this wonderful restaurant, and we will always make a point of booking a table whenever we go to Gleneagles. Impeccable service as you'd expect and a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Looking forward to returning next year.

What a fantastic experience. I thought it would be stuffy and old fashioned but it was relaxed and contemporary with that all important touch of good old fashioned large house tradition.
The spa was a fabulous experience, we were made to feel like the most important people alive - wonderful!
Nothing there is cheap but it is well worth the expense for a special occasion.

Where do I begin? This hotel/resort was just spectacular.

We have very high standards in hotels/dining, but like to travel with our 3 and 7 year old. That said, to find a hotel that can maintain beautiful grounds, 6*service, lovely, spacious rooms, more activities than one can fathom, and excellent food, while making you feel totally at home and completely comfortable with your somewhat loud and sort of obedient children, is a wonder. We just loved our stay at Gleneagles, and are ready to go back tomorrow!

The food was a revelation. The breakfast buffet was flawless, and if there was something that you wanted that wasn't out, the staff did their best to get it for you in a timely manner. Speaking of manners, the staff were kind, patient, professional and could not do enough for you. Melissa in Deseo (tapas + mediterranean + more casual)was a standout, as was Grant. Deseo's menu is endless and very impressive, with an emphasis on locally-sourced produce and meat/fish. The make your own pizza was a hit with the kids. Our meal in Strathairn (fine dining) was very special and memorable. Again, the service was stellar, as was the food quality. Both had incredible children's menus. We did not partake in Andrew Fairlie (2* Michelin), but I heard it is also great. Another highlight was the picnic the hotel set up for us. While we were visiting Gleneagles, the weather was flawless - 80 degrees F and sunny. On our last day, we decided it would be lovely to have picnic on the grounds before we departed. Within an hour, they had arranged a blanket, toys for the kids, beverages and perfect light fare for us, complete with strawberries and fresh cream for dessert. Beautiful.

The spa is gorgeous. My treatment was one of the best I have experienced, and my therapist Leigh Ann was wonderful, sweet, knowledgeable and thorough. Another highlight for me was the 3 mile jogging trail around the legendary golf courses on property. If you like running, it was truly breathtaking. They also had bikes, horse and pony riding, off-roading for adults and kids, falconry, archery, shooting, stables tours, exercise classes, indoor and outdoor pool, and a lovely creche and teens activity area. Awesome!

The room was beautiful and spacious also. You get the picture I am sure. Totally awesome.

Afternoon Lunch at Deseo Gleneagles ,If only the food matched the service .

Food was good but fell short of the mark on presentation and value , the sweet menu a veritable disaster .

Presentation of the cheese cake straight out of the school diner hall .
Almost was transported to Hogwarts such was shock of its arrival to our lunch table .
The obvious reliance on foreign nationals in the kitchen must have left its mark .

Room Tip: Pray and smile its still a Clancy old girl just needs a hand now and again
