Not the first time we have visited and certainly won't be the last. Went with my wife on valentines day and of course had the degustation menu with tasting wines to match. Faultless in every way from start to finish. The thing with this restaurant and the reason it is where it is, is the fact that it is not too fussy, not over complicated and very true to itself. It is not pretentious and you are made to feel welcome and at ease from the moment you walk in the door. Unlike other restaurants which try far too hard this is just good honest cooking sourced from quality local suppliers and the cooking expertly executed backed up with a service you won't find anywhere else in the country.

Well done team AF. Keep up the great work.

We have eaten in Andrews restaurant a number of times before but this has got to be the best meal we have had there to date!

From the minute we were greeted at the door to the minute we left everything was faultless!

We chose the Degustation tasting menu and had the paired wines to go along with it.

Every course was absolutely beautiful - I have tried Foie gras a few times and never liked it but the Foie Gras here was superb and the liquid Foie gras ball was scrummy!

I loved every dish but my 2 favourites were the signture dish of Home Smoked Lobster which is paired with a glass of Krug champagne - absolute heaven! This is definitely my favourite dish in the whole world!

We also chose to have the special main course of Roasted Hare which is carved at the table by the restaurant manager Dale - was great to watch this happen and have a bit of theatre in the restaurant!

Portion sizes were much bigger than expected and i was struggling by dessert but the Chocolate Souffle was too beautiful to leave!

Service was attentive but not intrusive and each wine matched the food perfectly!

Cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

Enjoyed the 10 course degustation with matching wines. Food was very interesting and had a good mixture of Scottish classics and some interesting twists.

We weren't overly happy with the tables for 2 as they faced into the back of the restaurant so one person faces a mirror and it lacks the atmosphere of a more central table.

Overall we enjoyed the meal.

We visited here on our first wedding anniversary. We were extremely excited to try our first 2 star restaurant, but in truth it was a bit of a disappointment.

We stayed at the hotel on the Michelin Magic package - which was great value for money.
We opted for the dégustation menu (tasting), which required a supplement that we were happy to pay. The restaurant itself is stunning, very beautiful.

The food was great, but in truth, it didn't blow us away. Perhaps our expectations were too high but it just wasn't as we expected. I personally disliked many of the dishes - which is the risk you take with tasting menus and says nothing about the chef or his menu in any way. Many of the courses were just too rich for us though, and we left feeling uncomfortable not satiated.

Service was impecible, however we found the speed of service slow. We went into the restaurant at 8.30pm but it was near to midnight before we left. It didn't make for an enjoyable experience.

All in all, it wasn't the best. We found ourselves reminiscing about how amazing the tasting menu is at Castle Terrace.

We went there on New Year's day and had an excellent meal from the DÉGUSTATION menu, everything was perfectly prepared, well presented, well served and each dish clearly explained by the nice staff. Go and try it well worth two Michelin stars.Sorry no fillet steaks on the menu....
Thanks Donna for the treat and a night not to forget 1-1-14 at the Gleneagles.
