We stayed here in early May for our first wedding anniversary and had booked into the Glenalmond suite. We had a great weekend break, what really sets the hotel apart is the quality of the staff. They are very friendly and helpful. We ate in the Rooftop restaurant both nights, the food was excellent and the views are great. We didn't get any spa treatments but did use the swimming pool facilities. The area is lovely and Crieff is well worth a wander about. The only down side I would say is that some of the furnishings and decor are a little dated in some areas.

Room Tip: The suite was large, and the bathroom has obviously been refurbished recently and is of a very high...

A secluded hotel in a leafy country setting at the NW part of Crieff. The atmosphere was calm yet super friendly and attentive staff make it well suited to couples looking to chill and treat themselves.

The staff are amazingly helpful and if you go with their vibe you will see that they are actually interested in talking with you and sharing stories as they go about their duties. The stand outs for us were Rebekah on reception, Aimee, Natasha and Marie from France in the restaurant and David "The Expert" restaurant manager who also knows his whiskies. All of them so helpful and focused on making sure you enjoy your stay.

We stayed two nights and ate in The Rooftop restaurant which has amazing views of the valley. We enjoyed the experience so much that on our second night we cancelled a booking at a local Italian restaurant, The Avanti, to eat at The Rooftop again. The service and the food made it an easy decision to cancel.

The hotel is clean and fresh and what you would expect. We had The Strathearn Deluxe Room which is on the top floor and just along the hall from The Rooftop restaurant and the bar. The website pictures show it all apart from the roll-top bath which sits in the main part of the room in front of the window. Very artsy and even a bit hedonistic if you can handle it.

Downsides, only a couple. There was a humming generator type noise to be heard for most of the first night. I missed it but the light sleeper made comment about it. The notices about not consuming your own alcohol on premise seemed a it over the top and showed, possibly, a lack of management confidence in their bar offerings and their staff's good service - the two things that would attract you there- and maybe a bit condescending.

However, I would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat. Golfers, lovers, weekend or midweek breakers, artists seeking inspiration or even just regular tourists looking for the personal touch. My bet is, if like us you think of yourself as discerning or you are a seasoned traveller who is used to the generic hotels, you will really enjoy your stay here. Recommended.

Room Tip: We had a tour of some of the other rooms. The Glenalmond Suite is a cracker.

I will pass on your comments to all the mentioned staff, it really does let us know that we are doing our job's properly when guests feel so welcomed & leave so happy. I do appologise about the noise on your first night's stay, without this being brought to our attention there is nothing we can do so thank you for letting us know & I will get it looked at as soon as possible.
We hope to see you in the future & would be delighted to welcome you back for a relaxing break.

We have talked for some time that we must try this Hotel, now we have and we will probably have another 2 day treat in the future. While not cheap it was money well spent from, the spa treatments to breakfast and dinner. It was midweek in May and the Hotel was very quiet which suited us old ones but I don't think even if busy it would be to noisy . Top quality food well served and presented , just to our taste . For a quiet retreat with ample sights to see / hillwalking / biking / golf / with the Famous Grouse Distillery close by ,it is well worth a visit. The swimming pool / steam room / sauna /with jacuzzi pool were more than adequate. We were given an upgrade and our room with en suite shower and jacuzzi bath was spot on. All the staff were efficient , welcoming and unobtrusive .

Disappointing did not live up to expectations, sorry to say that this is one to give a miss .Little details letting it down
On arrival we were told that we were in the Lodge, we were unaware of this. So were told to take our cases back out and drive down the road. At the lodge greeted by rubbish bins at entrance, NO staff, opened door to dusty, tired hallway, mismatched lampshades, dusty artificial flowers wandered about until we found our room meeting other guests looking for their rooms ! Found room dark brown paper, the featured bed was a cheap divan, bedding of poor quality, furniture mismatched, odd glasses by bed side. Two dusty chairs in need of reupholstering by window again artificial dusty flowers, no view except into neighbours house or electric sub station.Cheap dark mugs. No where to put cases on except floor. Bathroom, cheap plastic toilet seat, chipped base of bath, old passed it's sell by date plastic mug in bathroom, large plastic pedal bin with engrained dirt on pedal. We were told to explore kitchen and we would find the way to walk back to the hotel...this was up a rubble filled path, through a green house, as the weather was poor wandering about not what we had expected or appreciated. On the positive staff were friendly in main house, towels were good. Views in main house great. Would I stay here or recommend No

Room Tip: Check and double check you're here your accomadation is.

I am sorry to hear that you dint enjoy your stay with us , I have looking into the cleanliness of the lodge and found it to be clean , i just wish this was brought to my attention at the time as it is very hard for me to address something after it has happened and finding out about it here after you have left. we do operate a continual program of improvement and have implemented more training. When booking a room we do have 5 different times of room which is meant to suit different styles and needs. I have checked your booking which was through a 3rd party website which does give descriptions of every different type of room and style but maybe for future reference might be a good idea to call the hotel directly which would are more than happy to explain every room type as does our website with videos and pictures

The main stone stairway into the hotel is in a very poor condition and most of this hotel followed suit . Tired and in need of updating. Our room was clean but the sheets were not even close to a hotel standard , the pillows were thin foam and there was a grubby fluffy rug at the bottom of the bed which we
we folded up in a corner. A new shower unit was clean but the rest of the existing toilet floor was dirty . The lovely roll top bath , also looked clean and new was set at the window in the bedroom , lovely view .
All of the public areas were tired and the picture and furniture looked as if they had come from a charity shop some years ago. The restaurant was also very dated and the strange collection of items on the window sills were odd to say the least.
It is such a shame. The setting is beautiful, the view from the restaurant is stunning and the rooftop area is a lovely place for pre dinner drinks. The staff could not be nicer and the food at dinner was exceptionally good. A little more money spent on the details and this could be a very good hotel.

Room Tip: It may be there are better rooms but Strathearn was not great - apart from the great bath with a vie...

This hotel is a secluded romantic hideaway in the sleepy little town of Crieff, Perthshire.
This is Scottish hospitality at its best. We were treated like family on our recent visit and the vibe here is very chilled. It almost feels like you are a guest in someone's stately pile rather than in a hotel. The food is a gastronomical delight and will please every palate from the foodie to the kids.
Great effort has gone into the extensive menu.
It has a much more exclusive feel than neighbouring Crieff Hydro.
I recommend this hidden gem to you.

Room Tip: If budget allows, try and reserve one of the suites!

Stayed here for birthday treat, preferring this place to Crieff Hydro as there would be less children. The setting is fabulous, lovely views across central Scotland. We were given an upgrade to one of the junior suites which was nice although could have been done with a bit of modernisation. The pool area is nice, again though could be done with a bit of modernisation. Staff were lovely, had a nice meal the first night and breakfast both mornings. Breakfast had a reasonable range of options to choose from. Was disappointed to see our toiletries weren't replaced, but just a minor issue really.
