As a tour guide, I experience more B&B's than your average traveller! Gavelbeg rates as excellent in my book and recommend it to any visitor to Crieff. The owners obviously care a lot about how their guests feel about their stay and this turns Gavelbeh Gouse into a 'great' B&B, as opposed to a good B&B.

Very warm welcome, exquisite home baking, goodies for dog, clean well presented and very comfortable what more can I say. Breakfast was a delight, would definately visit again. Thank you to our hosts for making the stay very relaxing.

Room Tip: From what I saw all rooms were of a high standard

We spent one night at Galvelbeg after a very long and draining day. The welcome we received on our arrival was so friendly we felt immediately relaxed. Excellent sponge cake awaited us in our room, freshly made and as light as a feather - delicious - thank you Stella. The four of us were in one room but we were all very happy with the space and all slept on very comfortable beds. Breakfast was fantastic and Nigel was very helpful with ideas of places to take the children to burn off any excess energy. A big thank you too to the dogs who were very patient with all the love and attention they received and welcomed us like old friends! Thank you for a wonderful place in which to lay our weary heads! We could not have asked for more in a host.

Henrietta & Family,
So pleased that you and your family enjoyed your short stay with us at Galvelbeg. Stella keeps hitting the spot with the home-baking and yes that cake was particularly nice!! Glad that the children enjoyed their visit to MacRosty Park, it really is a little gem for all ages! Murphy & Bailey are always happy to provide a "doggie-fix" for any of our guests who are missing their own pets. I'm sure that it was great to get home to Kiwi again. Next time you will have to bring her with you!!

We were made to feel very welcome both BEFORE our stay and during it. Some properties forget that when one is arranging a visit there are many things to consider in advance. The whole process does not begin with arrival. To Stella and Nigel, nothing was too much trouble from the date of our first enquiry. We were not disappointed. The accommodation is excellent and small touches such as the provision of home-baked biscuits make the guests feel most welcome. We could not fault it. We will be back and we really mean that. Our son and his wife live in Crief. All in all Galvabeg House contributed to a wonderful stay. PS The dog shares our views!

David, Margaret & Barney,
Thank you for your wonderful review. Your initial booking was received while we were taking a well-earned break, with limited Wi-Fi access. We try and find out about any special requirements our guests need, especially when they are travelling with dogs, so that our two boys, Murphy & Bailey, know who to expect!!
Hope it won't be long before you are back up visiting your family and you can come and stay with us again.

We only stayed one night at Galvelbag House before we left Scotland flying home from Glasgow International airport. Very convenient only about an hour's drive the next morning. Nigel and his wife made us feel very much at home and the other guests, who seemed to come there regularly, were very happy too. Nice rooms, comfortable beds and a choice of refreshments. All arranged with an eye for detail. People who appreciate a more personal approach will have a very enjoyable time at Galvelbeg House.

Ian,
So pleased that you and your mother enjoyed your brief stay with us. We are handy for both Glasgow & Edinburgh airports so make a good stop-off either starting of finishing your visit to Scotland. We prefer if people can stay with us longer, but are more than happy if people can only stop for the one night.
Thank you for the comment about the "personal approach", we think that is what makes us different and also what makes this job so enjoyable, meeting all these different people.

We had been to Crieff for Golf before and looked for a B&B , what luck we had in booking with Nigel and Stella . Lovely couple , good hosts , nice room complete with Shortbread , Cookies and Cake consecutively , Stella they were scrumptious . Our Golf wasn't great but the Breakfasts more than made up for that , hating Porridge for most of my life ( parental fault , water , salt and looks of smooth concrete ) I tried the Porridge with Fruit Compote , Nigel , you converted me after all these years , it was brilliant .
Plus , we both agreed that the Scrambled egg was fantastic..

Overall , when we return to Perth for Golf next year we will make a booking at Galvelbeg House again well ahead. Thanks Nigel and Stella for a great weekend ! Stu and Raymond

Room Tip: Rooms at the back would suit light sleepers

Stu & Raymond,
Thank for your review, it was really nice having you both to stay, really enjoyable company! So glad that you enjoyed our breakfasts, especially the porridge with fruit compote! Great to get you set-up for a day of golf. (At least the poor golf couldn't be blamed on the breakfasts!!)
Look forward to welcoming you again, next year.

I stayed 2 nights and despite having had a problem with my vehicle on the way down was made handsomely welcome by Nigel. My stay was very comfortable, and the hospitality and warmth of the hosts was outstanding. The breakfast lasted me all day and there were plenty of places to "top-up" in Crieff in the evening. I shall strongly recommend Galvelbeg to my friends, and I hope to return with my wife.

John,
Thank you so much for your review on your recent shooting trip to Crieff. I hope you managed to get your car sorted out on your return home. Glad that the "Perthshire Breakfast" kept you fuelled up all day and like you say there are plenty of pubs and restaurants in Crieff to choose from at night.
Hope to see you and your good lady here again.
