“overpriced, the rooms are very tired”
Reviewed 4 August 2008

This hotel is overpriced, dirty, badly needs a renovation. The rooms are not nice at all.

We took the food package with our two kids, the food is very average.

The activities are very overpirced,

We booked at the last minute and I have to say the hotel entirely met our expectations. Sure, there are a few frayed carpets here and there but nothing too obviously tatty, especially considering the footfall. All the facilities we tried were excellent and, crucially for us, the staff were exceptional. This alone made our short stay a pleasant one. Mention needs to be given to the Murray Park Hotel, situated just outside the gates to the main complex but a part of the Hydro so food and drink taken there can be booked to the room in the main hotel. This too, had excellent staff and a much more intimate dining experience that suited us as a couple perfectly. Given the opportunity we will be back again.

We stayed in one of the 5* clucrieff cottages in October 2007. It was a detatched norwegian style house and it was beautiful plent of space for our family of 5 and everything you need is there.
The hotel it;s self is in need of a face lift but the perfect place for kids. We self-catered for breakfast and lunch and the first night we went into crieff and had a pub lunch which was good. The second night we ate in the restaurant in the hotel and had a lovely meal.
The attraction to this hotel for us is the activities during our stay we did the following -
Went on walks
Played disc golf
Pitch & Put
Swimming
Crazy Golf
Quad Biking
Horseriding
Hotel Treasure Hunt
and we were only there for 2 nights!
We are returning to crieff again at the end of July 2008 with another family but this time staying at the sister hotel Murraypark will review when we get back.

"We have been going to crieff for a long time and never once has it faulted. It is great for the kids (13-15) they love it !. I recommend the self-catering it gives you more freedom and is great for a dog. Beatiful scenery and walks for the familly. There is also a lot of wildlife to be seen. The facillities are quality standard and very clan. Loads of organised sport and activities witch are very social. The golf centre is excellent. I strongly recommend it for any familly in need of a holiday.

Stayed at the hotel for two nights to celebrate my 40th Birthday with my husband. Our accommodation was comfortable and clean, food excellant in both restaurants. Staff all very helpful from Reception to bar and restaurant. I would definately recommend this hotel to family and friends as it was so relaxing and surroundings pleasant to walk around. We have stayed before in a chalet this time in the hotel and our stay was just as enjoyable as before.

Breakfast standard was so good we had too much to choose from and was replemised even though we had breakfast late in the morning which was nice to see.

Well done to all staff who make it so enjoyable to stay and will be back hopefully for longer next time!

This was our first holiday with our 10 month old baby. We stayed at the culcrieff cottages along with 4 of our friends and their 6 month old baby. The cottage was absolutely gorgeous with all our needs catered for. We required 2 cots and 2 high chairs and we ordered these before we left for the trip and they were there waiting when we arrived. The surroundings were beautiful and the resort was perfect for a relaxing holiday we were looking for. Although we were self catering which was perfect for our needs, we did wander into the hotel and have lunch in the Brasserie. This was the only part that let our holiday down, I felt the service was pretty slow and the quality of the meal was not really worth the money.

We will definately be back but perhaps give the Brasserie a miss.

Stayed at Crieff Hydro a number of times now and it gets better and better. Excellent value for dinner bed and breakfast on my last visit and was allocated a comfortable, quiet, excellently appointed room.
Meals were good and staff very friendly.
They missed charging for a bottle of wine on my final bill, but as I had such excellent value I felt I had to point it out. They did not waive the charge for my honesty - ah well you cant win them all.
I suspect that they keep track of your visits so I think they must give preference to those who have stayed frequently.
