We were visiting the Crieff Hydro and 8 of our party visited on Sunday lunchtime. It was almost of Fawlty Tower proportion!,
One decided on Nachos and Chilliand boy was it chilly, after returning it for. A second time, my friend even told them how to heat it up! The lasagne was solid and the soup took 45 minutes to come.
The service was appalling and the staff seemed to have no idea how to run a cafe! As a group of beyond middle aged ladies, we really wanted to sort them out as they didn't have a clue!
Really avoid for a quick Sunday lunch, if you are ever in Crieff

We visited this cafe for lunch on a Saturday - looked OK from the outside with sofas & toys, but I have to say the food was dreadful! My husband & I had the cheeseburger and it was just a plain bun, really cheap 'economy' style burger, slab of cheap cheese & limp salad. For £8!!! The kids pizza was just a reheated microwave pizza. The chips looked good, but tasted very odd ... maybe fried in some strange oil? We were the only people there, which we attributed to an early arrival but maybe the locals know better? Shame, as I'm sure we visited the same place a couple of years ago and had nice coffee & cake, but per other review this place seems to have changed hands since then. We bailed out and went to the cafe at the swingpark after lunch for coffee & cake this time!

Just back from a weekend in Crieff and chose this bistro as we'd been a couple of times a couple of years back and loved all the homemade food. Found out it has changed hands. This is going to seem o.t.t but it was so bad that I have to share. The thai beef salad was a plate of iceberg lettuce, sliced red peppers and onion, with a luke warm beef casserole spooned on top and sweet chilli dipping sauce drizzled over! What? The chicken fajitas were cooked unseasoned chicken in a wrap with raw peppers, melted cheese on top of the wrap and again sweet chilli dipping sauce drizzled over!! What? and the pea and ham soup was pea soup with pieces of wafer thin ham stirred in...the same ham as was in the ham sandwich! Not a hint of ham hough. Most of our party ate the food but only because we were so hungry and had a long journey ahead. We had to laugh..so funny. The toilet was filthy, all the plants dying and awful music. Only good thing...the lovely waitress.

Desperate for somewhere to revitalise us after a 2+ hour journey and realising it was probably too late for a pub lunch, we found ourselves in Crieff parked right outside this quaint little bistro. Walked in to a very cosy not your run of the mill type place and greeted with a warm smile that we hoped to expect from Scottish hospitality.

What a random mix of food - something to suit most and between us we tried the hearty soup, some cheesy nachos, the homemade beef pie with scrumptious chips and the spicy chicken with rice - all delicious.

It is all done in a cafe style but there are comfy sofa's, a licenced bar and even some rather cool toys for kids and adults alike!
