“Breakfast traffic jam!”
Reviewed 3 February 2014

Booked one night stay as flying from Glasgow airport for one week away. Advice would be That it is not worth staying here unless you need the included parking facility and free shuttle bus to the airport, which is an excellent service. However the room size was tiny (the phrase couldn't swing a cat in it springs to mind), and breakfast was chaotic to say the least. Coffee had run out, food was lukewarm, and kept running out, and staff completely unconcerned that guests might wish such a 'luxury' as a saucer for their coffee. However, worst of all is the layout of the dining room - the person responsible for deciding that having one narrow opening for guests to both enter and exit from the self-service area, causing serious congestion, obviously does not have an inkling about food service. (Neither do I, but anything would be an improvement on the current arrangements) but I have had the thought that given the quality of the food, it was thought that hiding it behind screens might be a good idea....

Room Tip: Do not expect too much - if you have no need of airport parking, do not stay!

15 of us were at one of the tribute nights last night in the Normandy, over 600 people were crushed into the hall, 2 bars in the hall with 2 staff in each bar, half an hour wait on a very overpriced drink. Our main issue though was the tables they were so squashed in there was not room to move between table, 100% sure it was a health and safety issue, if there had been a fire in there I am sure a lot would struggled to get out

We booked into the hotel on Christmas night and parked our car in the main hotel capark while we booked in. My husband and the night porter filled in all the car details, milage, damage etc. At no time was the car examined. We were assured the car would be moved to the secure carpark at the rear of the hotel the next morning. Seven days later we returned to find our car still in the main carpark and damaged. Two staff members agreed the damage was recent. Upshot - althought the hotel clearly did not follow their own procedures to examine and park the car securely, they still would not accept respnsibility. Obviously not believing their own staff. We spoke to the operations manager who said they could not see evidence of damage on their cctv cameras. This would entail watching 98 hours of video to see what could have happened in a split second. We are still waiting to hear from the general manager after 4 weeks. We are so disappointed as we have stayed before and found the hotel fine. Please give serious thought before booking this hotel given the total disregard they have given us. We trusted our car to what we thought was a respected hotel only to be left with a damaged car. We will not be back !

Usually we stay at an on-site hotel but decided to take a chance on the very good offer for two weeks parking with overnight stay and found The Normandy was excellent value for money. The room may have looked a little "tired" but the bathroom was immaculate and the bed comfortable. The evening meal was tasty and restaurant service friendly and efficient as were all reception staff. We had golf clubs as well as two suitcases, so the overnight storage room was an asset and the cheerful assistance of the parking/driving staff in loading and unloading luggage was greatly appreciated. No problems experienced with transfers to and from airport. In future, we will make The Normandy our first option when selecting hotel with parking.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a park and fly package.
The room we had was quite small but was suitable for one night. The staff were friendly and efficient. We had a 3 course meal in the restaurant which was ok have had better for the price we paid. The drinks are expensive.
We left our car at the hotel and a courtesy bus took us to the airport and picked us back up on our arrival.
This service was excellent the bus was waiting for us in the morning. On arrival back home just used the freephone in arrivals and in a couple of minutes the driver was there cases loaded and taken back to our awaiting car.We would definitely use this hotel again the next time we fly from Glasgow.
