“Staff are the jewel of this hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 March 2014

Booked a deluxe room, based on reviews. Glad we did. It was ok, nice view, bright, decent size with a seating area. However, it was a little tired, and had not bee thoroughly cleaned. Although all the important stuff had been done - clean bedding, bath cleaned, desk dusted, etc - it was the fiddly things that had been missed.....the skirting boards, the top shelf in the bathroom, etc. However, it was still a fairly decent room.

We used the leisure facilities, and on the way there, we passed through the area where the standard room were (suspect this had previously been the smoking rooms). It was far from pleasant. Would strongly reccommend booking a better room.

Had a drink in the cocktail bar, and had dinner in one of the restaurants. After our meal, the supervisor said that there was a tribute band playing in one of the funtion rooms, and a musical duo playing in another, and that we were welcome to go through to either if we wished. We went to see the musical duo and had a lovely evening.

Breakfast - was crazy. The biggest breakfast buffet I have ever seen. Even the hot food is on the buffet. I have never seen so much choice in hot food or prepared fruit on a breakfast buffet before. Toaster was playing up, so queues were forming for toast. As breakfast is exceptionally busy, you may have to wait a few minutes for a table. Would advise going down early, and also take something with you to leave on the table, so that they don't assume you have finnished, and start clearing it.

Used the pool, steam room and sauna. Pool was lovely. Sauna and steam room were also good. The changing rooms were not pleasant. The showers had broken fllor tiles, and there were big clumps of human hair stuck to the broken bits. There were only 2 changing cubicles - otherwise it was communal. I used one of the cublicles and as I was coming out, I noticed that there was what appeared to be blood on the curtain. They had a a complimentary hairdryer, which was good.

This hotel appears to be popular with groups of females on hen weekends. They make use of the weekly entertainment and leisure facilities. They can be a bit noisy. Request a room as from the lift/stairs as possible or you may be woken in the early hours as they pass your room.

On check out, we were able to leave our luggage, and collect it later.

The staff were the jewel of this hotel. The building needs a bit of TLC in places, but the staff were wonderful. They were so good in fact, that despite the hotel needing a bit of work in places, we would go back.

Room Tip: Book the best room you can get...don't take a standard one. Also, request one as far from the l...

Booked a Michael Buble tribute night last weekend-hoping to get a dance or two in. No chance- dance floor was quite dangerous with flailing limbs from people who had obviously overindulged-and at one point a woman on her knees on the floor?-not a venue for ballroom dancers! On a positive note, the food was quite nice and the staff VERY nice. The tribute act itself was distinctly average-out of tune at times, but if you'd overindulged you probably wdn't have noticed! Obviously people had 'smuggled' drink in as it was quite expensive, despite the threat that bags would be searched(I have never come across THAT before!) We left at the break!

This is probably the ninth or tenth time that I have stayed in the Glynhill Hotel, due to an organization that I am a member of having its annual conference here. The hotel seems to be having a rolling makeover and the reception and other public areas are nice and finished to a high standard. The staff are absolutely excellent and it is nice to see the same familiar faces year after year. The food is to a high standard and there is a good breakfast which is buffet style.
The room this year was a disappointment. They have some excellent rooms, sadly mine wasn't one. The only plus point was its proximity to the leisure club. There is a nice pool, sauna etc which is of a reasonable standard.
My room had a slight makeover with a bit of led lighting, comfortable beds, (no view) and slightly overheated. Very good nights sleep though. Not sure how much the room cost as I didn't pay, it was probably worth £40-50, but and upgraded room, which I have stayed in previously would be what I would have preferred.
Wifi good throughout the hotel!

Room Tip: Gold wing is better!

We were married at the Glynhill Hotel on the 14 Feb. I would like to say thank you to all the staff who were professional, friendly and efficient at all times. A special thanks to Harry who made sure the whole day ran smoothly. We are so glad that we had the ceremony and reception at the same venue. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The DJ Scott was fab, the dance floor was full all night. Several guests stayed for the weekend and they had nothing but praise for the hotel. The honeymoon suit was lovely, very modern and comfortable. Thanks again for helping us to have such a perfect day.

Have stayed here once before and the facilities are OK ..some staff very pleasant , others leave a bit to be desired !! ..but the bed in room 227 was the most uncomfortable bed l have ever stayed in ..first night was bad enough ..second even worse , if l was staying a third night l would have had to move rooms or move hotel as l have had bad backache since and didnt get alot of sleep !!...so my advice is check your bed before you unpack...if you like sleeping on a board then it will be fine !

Room Tip: ..check your bed !

Stayed here for 8 days whilst my wife was in hospital nearby. Only downside was the view from my room. The staff are very helpful and have a genuine desire to please. This large hotel is family owned, perhaps this has a bearing on attitude. The car very is excellent, with lots of choice.
Look out for Lynette, she's lovely :)
Pool looked welcoming, but had no time to enjoy it.

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking the front if you can.

Visited this hotel in January on business. The hotel is nice and clean. The restaurant is excellent. The only issue I would have is it appears to be in the middle of nowhere and miles from the nearest railway station. The rooms are comfortable with walk in showers. A very nice place.

Thank you for your review on your recent stay at the hotel and for such positive feedback of the hotel.

The hotel is located only 1 mile from Paisley Gilmour Street Train Station and has a frequent bus service, which passes the hotel every 5 - 10 minute. A taxi would have cost around £5.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the near future and should you be using public transport please call us and we will be delighted to simplify the directions to the hotel.

Kindest regards
