“a lovely clean beach”
Reviewed 28 June 2014

It's simply fantastic and well worth seeing - not to be missed, there's also a coastal walk which takes in the beach.
It's natural with no man made items - no rides or candyfloss either

“there is no better”
Reviewed 7 May 2014

there is no better beach. There may be warmer ones, though, so confine swimming trips to high summer or bring a wet suit. Its remote enough that if there are one or two people already on it, and that's too many for a half-kilometre beach at high tide or a km beach at low tide, just walk on a little and find your own. The whole peninsula is golden shell sand, the beach slopes just slowly enough to be safe for kids and quickly enough for adults to swim. Or kayak! There are sea caves to explore, a kyle to cross....

“Lovrly beach”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

Beach itself is gorgeous, and nearby is Scotland's most enjoyable golf course, and even the cemetery and church ruin is worth a visit. Occasionally the end of the point is blocked off by the military, but it doesn't affect the beach (other than the vehicles going back and forward along it).

“Beautiful”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

A lovely beach for a walk - there's a lot of space.
And the ruined church and Balnakiel House add both history and another opportunity to take photos!
