“Fantastic walk and very dog friendly”

We go to Golspie several times a year and have walked through the big burn many times with our dog Archie. He loves it and so do we. There's always plenty to see, hear and smell and Archie can do his own thing while we amble along. Very safe for the kids too and I would recommend it even on a damp day as most of the walk is amongst the trees anyway.

This is a fantastic walk for all the family. It is a well maintained path and has wheelchair access as far as the first bridge and picnic table. It's great to just sit there and relax listening to the burn running by.

Quiet, peaceful, lovely scenery. Best done on a sunny evening, when the sun dapples through the leaves. Only saw 3 other people.

Loved the different places we walked through? Broad leaved trees, pine trees then moorland. Nice tracks with a bit of uphill.

We've known about this walk for ages but finally got around to doing it last weekend. It was absolutely gorgeous from the car park onwards. At this time of year (early June) then the whole walk is a mass of bluebells and wild garlic. The paths are very well kept and there are lots and lots of bridges to cross, which means I think that children would love running over them all. There are also a good number of benches and picnic stops. It was a sunny day when we went and we had great fun spotting trout. The walk ends on a walkway overlooking the Big Burn waterfall, which even after the dry weather we have had still looked good. Would definitely recommend you stop by when your passing.
