We stayed over night while walking the GGW. When we first arrived bar maid seemed a bit disinterested but we booked in and the rooms were basic, but had plainly been newly painted with new bathrooms fitted. We ate in the bar and food was pub food but good and fairly priced. Steve the manager? was chatty and a good host very friendly. It suited our purposes fine

Can't really comment on the place for a stay but went in for a meal on Saturday night and it was one of the worst meals we have ever had.

The fries looked and tasted as if they were a week old. The burger buns were huge but untoasted and dry (no spread) and the burger itself looked tiny sitting in the middle. The whole presentation was very poor.

Whilst waiting for about an hour to be served our meal and whilst eating it, not a single member of staff approached us to see if we wanted drinks, our to see if our meal was satisfactory. Had we been eating in the bar this may have been more acceptable but certainly not in the dining room.

The outside of the building was very run down and the upper windows looked like a derelict building.

The barman was friendly and the beer was good.

Sorry but having travelled quite extensively over the last 8 years, this has to be our worst experience.

This was our third visit and we will return. Great bar with a terrific selection of beers. The atmosphere is special, so friendly. The food is fine and plentiful, the breakfast sets you up for a days sightseeing.

We received a warm welcome with the dog and were shown to a spacious room with a nice new bathroom. Room had a portable heater and was spotless. Public lounge too cold to sit in but nice friendly bar with good real ales and reasonablly priced meals.Evening meal and breakfast very good with good service.Enjoyed our stay as didn't have to leave the hotel for anything.

Had a great stay at the hotel while walking the Great Glen Way for Cancer Research with my friends Mo. Anne and Lorraine, Steve and staff were very friendly, breakfast was delicious, black pudding yummy and mushrooms even better. A big thanks to Steve who kindly donated to our charity and a big thanks also to the rep who took one of our injured friends on to Inverness, Great Hotel and will visit again.

I experienced a warm and genuine welcome from Steve and staff, their guests and regulars. The rooms were clean and comfortable; the cooked breakfast was top-notch; and the evening menu consistently delivered hearty dishes - including a highly recommended Haggis Pizza! But even better than the menu is the phenomenal range of "Ness" beer which is brewed locally, and proudly, by Steve and friends in their own micro-brewery (ask for a quick tour!). The accolade of "2012 CAMRA Highland Pub of the Year" is deserved. With beers such as "WilderNess", "DarkNess", "RedNess", and "HoppyNess" among their repertoire, my friends and I spent much time drinking and dreaming up new variations of "Ness" for Steve's future consideration. Situated a short stroll from the banks of Loch Ness, a 5 minute drive from
Urquhart Castle, and surrounded by places of outstanding natural beauty, there's no shortage of things to see and do. In short, The Benleva Hotel delivers good value and is a great place to set up base from which to explore and experience the best the Highlands has to offer - whatever you're into. Personally I'm now a great fan of the WilderNess!!

Thanks to Steve and staff for a wonderful stay in your great hotel. Amazing plentiful breakfast with the best blackpudding ever. Four of us stayed while Walking the Great Glen Way for Cancer Research UK charity. Steve very kindly gave a donation which was very much appreciated by us all. Please pass on our heartfelt thanks to the driver who took one of our party to Inverness following an accident. Would certainly recommend The Benleva Hotel to all and will definitely be back. Thank you, Mo, Yvonne, Anne & Lorraine
