Wife and I stayed here one night in Sept 2016. It's in a Good location to explore Loch Ness; 2 minutes drive from the shore, right next to Nessie exhibition and gift shops, next to collection point for a Nessie boat tour, next to a bus stop and set within Drumnadrochit village which has some tea rooms, and at least one small but nice pub, tourist info shop and post office (and quite a few other hotels/ B and Bs)
The Staff are welcoming, especially reception, room was clean. Basic and small but felt clean. Bed not comfy- needs new mattress and bigger more comfy pillows. Overall ok for price. They've at least tried to make it modern even if it looks quite outdated now.
Food was very good at the hotel restaurant. Burger was great, chicken with haggis delicious, and mushroom pie on the side was beautiful. Better than standard pub fare- vegetables were fresher and good packed with flavour. Huge selection of whisky - could do with more ales and craft beers.
Breakfast bog standard fry up or cereal and toast. Nothing to rave about.
Overall, great restaurant food, friendly staff and good location.
(Ps. Book the Nessie boat tour at the gift shop on the Main Street. Taken by captain George Edwards - really interesting and fun)
