“Cheap and Cheerful”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 May 2014

Nice spot for lunch on a sunny day. Has a roadside diner feel to it. There is a grassy area for kids to play in front of the restaurant. Staff were welcoming and friendly and food was decent (steak pie and chips) and home cooked. Park at the tourist information across the main road as the road the cafe is on is residential parking only.

“Little Gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 April 2014

Stopped off here for a quick lunch whilst on holiday in the area, and had a really nice meal. The place is spotlessly clean and the staff are really nice and friendly. Had steak pie and chips, which was warm, tasty and filling, followed by ice cream which was delicious. (Husband had sticky toffee pud and says it was one of best he's ever had). Place appears to be a converted barn but that really added to the charm of the place.

“Great for stop away from the hustle.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 April 2014

I like this place to stop on my way home from Inverness. Easy parking across the road. Good food cooked to order. Tea served in a pot, not a cup. Reasonably priced. Nice friendly couple. good place.

“Scones in almost-sunshine outside”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 April 2014 via mobile

Late afternoon, had the best scones and tea so far. Still a fresh, slightly moist taste, and with raisins in, strawberry jam and believe it or not, the first place that actually had clotted cream instead of butter, whipped cream, or "sorry-we're-out-of-clotted-cream".

The interior was very dark and looked a bit much like a canteen, but the weather was lovely ("as close as we ever get to sunny") so we sat comfortably outside and enjoyed the rare warmth.
