We only had one night to spend near Loch Ness, but after checking into Glenkirk, we wished it was more. The fact that it is a remodeled kirk (church) was only the first of many excellent features of Glenkirk. The B&B has ample parking out front, a welcoming entryway, and a great gathering room with a TV, games, books, games, and tea/biscuits. Our room was amazing: immaculate, four-star hotel quality furnishings and linen, decent size bathroom, clean, and the perfect size for our family of three.

Breakfast was a real treat, and our hosts, Fiona and Ross Urquhart, were gracious, friendly, helpful, and just plain great people. Fiona's porridge was scrumptious, as were the rest of the breakfast fare. Ross was quick with a recommendation and a story in the morning, and produced maps of Scotland showing the traditional clan homelands when we inquired.

Glenkirk is a short walk into the village, so we didn't need to use our car until we had to (sadly) check out the following morning. The next time we need to stay anywhere near Loch Ness, we will definitely stay here again.

We stayed here our last night before hiking the Great Glen Trail into Inverness. It was an old village church that the owners have remodeled into a fantastic B & B. It has on three rooms, all modern and well appointed. Not too far from the main part of town, (small) within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Glenkirk has a great breakfast, good selection to go with the great comfortable rooms. If you are hiking, they will make a lunch for your next day travel. It was a pleasure to stay here and definitely recommend this to anyone stopping in Drumnadrochit.

Room Tip: Only three rooms and one does not have a shower, so be sure to ask.

We stayed here in August for 3 nights and it was incredible. The church is beautiful and the room is clean, modern and spacious. The breakfast is good en they have a lounge area and offer a laptop and wifi. But the best value are the owners, Fiona and Ross. They were friendly, interested and gave us lots of information about the area. We stayed here during the Highland Games they organised in August and it was a real experience.

I would definitely recommend this B&B to everyone!

This is a small B&B - only three guest rooms so if you like peace and quiet plus beautiful surroundings, this is the place. It is a renovated church and extremely well maintained. The original design has been meticulously maintained while the interior has been modified for modern living conditions (including free wi-fi, a media room, and laundry services if needed). I was traveling with a friend to attend the Loch Ness Marathon on 9/29/13 and this location was ideal for our race. The rooms were immaculate and the host / hostess were very friendly with a wonderful breakfast menu. Definitely 5 Star!

When you arrive here you cannot help but be impressed that you are staying in a church. But what is better is that Fiona has made it into a real home and it feels cosy yet spacious. The communal lounge has a great view out of the upstairs front window. There are three rooms upstairs with sloping roofs which adds so much character.

The rooms were up to date and modern with good showers. Linen and equipment in the room was exactly what you wanted and needed. Wifi throughout was a real added benefit.

Breakfast was lovely with locally made oatcakes. Tea and coffee on tap without having to ask was a good addition.

Packed lunch was big and full of calories. Just what you need for walking the Great Glen Way.

Owners already talking about improving the residence more. It already gets 5 out of 5 stars from me so can only imagine how great it would be in the future.

Will definitely find an excuse to come back in future.

Room Tip: All three rooms are great. Do not worry.

This beautiful B&B housed in an old church was our favorite B&B along the Great Glen Way. Hosts Fiona and Ross are so gracious and friendly. They make you feel right at house. The Glenkirk is bright, clean, with numerous amenities. The breakfasts are outstanding. Fiona makes her own delicious jam and marmalade and the oatcakes are the best we tasted. Also, she packed the greatest sack lunch with real homemade treats. If you go to Drumnadrochit don't miss staying here.

We walked the south loch ness trail and stayed in this amazing place on route. We arrived to a gorgeous building with a really friendly owner(fiona)The interior was also gorgeous. Very homely place. Breakfast in the morning was also cracking. Another lovely touch was when the other owner(Ross) introduced himself and took time to talk to us in the morning about how the whole family have restored such an amazing place for us to njoy. Would definitely recommend this as a place to stay.
