This is a nice b&b located on a quiet side street. All the rooms are of good size & very modern. Sarah is the owner & fixes a great scotish breakfast. It is only a short 10min drive to take a boat ride on Loch Ness & it also includes a tour of Urquart Castle. Many nice Pubs in the area. The only negative thing is that this B&B charges you 2.5% if you pay with a C/C. This was the only place we found to do this. But overall a nice experience.

We took my father to see the Scottish highlands during a sunny spell in February. We stayed in Moffat, then Loch Ness and finally Aviemore.

We were quite disappointed with Loch Ness in general as it transpires that most of the movies made about Nessie are made elsewhere in Scotland, however a stroke of luck came our way. We had decided that Drumnadrochit was probably the best place to stay on the Loch and as we were driving around the back lanes looking for somewhere to stay, a B&B owner (who was closed at the time) flagged us down and asked if we were looking for accommodation. He pointed out the Aslaich in the distance. We knocked on the door and enquired and we were offered a good rate as the other places had been charging double occupancy for my father's room. Rhona however wasn't convinced as she was sure there was a Scottish Castle lurking somewhere over the loch, with four poster rooms, and Nessie cruising about in the water. Needless to say, we returned after an hour to book in (no nice castles to stay in!!!).
What a result! There is a footpath across the field to a pub/hotel called the Benleva. We visited the local convenience store first and bought cheese, grapes and red wine, dropped them off at the accommodation, dropped dad off at the pub, parked up at the B&B and hopped across the field to join dad. Several fine Scottish cask ales and fabulous food later, we helped dad back to the B&B, added some logs to the fire in the lounge, opened the wine, and merrily munched on cheese and biscuits whilst watching Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares in the USA.

The setup is absolutely fantastic. We had an ensuite room to ourselves as did Dad, and there is a communal lounge with crockery, cutlery, take away menus, logs for the fire, nice TV. All self contained. The owner's accommodation is next door.

Everything is brand new. The owner turned up in the morning to cook us a fantastic breakfast.

This place is a gem of a find and an absolute must to enjoy a trip in the Highlands

We stayed at Aslaich recently just for 1 night, the bed and breakfast is really good. Everything is new, clean and really well maintained. We had an en-suite room which overlooked the back woodlands, and we could hear the river running on a night which was so peaceful. The highlight of our stay must have been the Open Log Fire in the private lounge area and the superb breakfast, what a choice of things to eat!. The Scottish breakfast is definitely worth having, but make sure you are hungry as the breakfast is big!

We had a lovely walk into the village, had a few beers on the way, a meal and then a stroll back just as it was getting dark. A wee dram of whsky in front of the fire before going to bed finished the night.

Thanks guys for making feel so at home in your beautiful home.
