We stayed with the new owners Nina and Garry for two nights. They have recently renovated the place and also installed Sky TV. We stayed with our two year old. What a bespoke service we received. They were warm and welcoming and went that bit further to make our stay welcoming and restful. They were extremely generous with whatever we wanted for Bfast whether it was full fry up or bacon rolls and continental. The place was immaculate with great views and large garden. They had lots of information about the area and went out of their way to book us a table at a great restaurant. Felt like we were staying with people we had known for ages. Good Luck Nina and Garry!

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at this delightful place in September in order to attend the Beer Festival at the local hotel. It is very cosy and private being away from the main building. Breakfast was great and ample, all laid out and self service - this suited my husband who likes to burn his toast to a crisp! I'm sure the hosts will remember him. We even had enough to make sandwiches for lunch, with provided sandwich bags. Books, videos and DVDs were on loan to us throughout our stay. We will be back next year.

...at a place like John and Carol made me feel welcome during my by now overall three visits with them at the Elmbank B&B then you're off to a great stay.

During the planning of my first ever trip to Scotland in 2006 I needed accomodation somewhere around Loch Ness. You never know, you might just be the one finding Nessie.

Well, sadly enough I didn't find her, but I found the Elmbank. And that was worth so much more (since you don't get to keep Nessie, but you can always return to Elmbank B&B).

Already upon arrival I was made to feel so welcome and the feeling that John and Carol really do care for their guests in every way just kept on getting bigger and bigger.

There were so many little things that made this first stay so special. Too many to list them here. But they made the first stay so memorable and special that (upon my return to Scotland in November 2006) I simply had no choice but to go and stay with them one more time. Which happened yet again on my Summer '07 trip. And it was special every single time.

The two rooms (one double, one twin bedroom, both with en-suite facilities) are situated in a separate building, both well equipped and comfortably furnished. The fact that there is "only" continental breakfast on the menu didn't worry me too much after having plenty of Scottish breakfasts along the way.

The B&B itself is situated in a small side road with almost no traffic except for residents, so the location is very peaceful and quiet. Yet you can reach down"town" Drumnadrochit with its exhibitions, restaurants, pubs, Nessie souvenirs and Loch cruises easily as well as Urquhart Castle, Culloden or Inverness quickly. And the Highlands are practically just around the corner.

The Elmbank is my personal No. 1 choice whenever I need accomodation in the area. And no, I have not been paid by the owners to write this. ;o) I write this because I mean it and whenever I shall need a place to stay in that area of Scotland, I know where I will be asking for a room first.

This is a very small B&B with two rooms: one twin (that's two beds) and one double (that's one bed, queen size). The rooms are separate from the proprietors' home. The twin room has a bath with a shower (no tub). The rooms are small but very clean and tidy. The location is lovely. The fare is "continental". The cost of this B&B is quite reasonable, particularly if you stay for more than 4 days; we stayed 7 days and the cost was ~$35USD/day. During our stay, wireless internet was available.

We stayed at swankier B&Bs, but this one was our absolute favorite. John & Carol are wonderful, delightful, gracious hosts. They do everything to make you feel comfortable and are very helpful when it comes to where to go and what to see. We felt so very much at home here and would return without any hesitation.

I rate this experience excellent based on the total experience, even though most people would probably want the option for a hot breakfast; nevertheless, we were fine with the continental fare. For me and my fellow traveler, the hosts make or break the experience and all the frippery in the world doesn't replace the warm personal touch. We still speak fondly of John & Carol.
