WE'LL BE BACK! -STUNNING SETTING
This was our 4th visit to the Highland Club - we love it here.
The apartments are individually and beautifully furnished, immaculately clean with lovely views of either the Loch or the mountains. The kitchen fully equipped so I was able to cook just as if I was at home, including making our morning smoothie!
We have cycled, walked and toured from The Highland Club which is in a perfect position to explore the beautiful Scottish countryside.
I would definitely recommend it and hope to return soon.
The Highland Club is in one of the most dreamy locations. The scenery, history, air, views, walks make this is a perfect to stay. We loved the boathouse, sitting there being right on the loch. The Abbey its self is a place to visit in its own right and has been beautifully restored. Will definitely visit again.
Stayed with the kids and grandparents. Something for all generations.
Lovely clean apartments with many good facilities to keep you entertained.
Absolutely stunning buildings that have been restored and refurbished with care. The gothic architecture gives the place that Hogwarts feel.
Good location with beautiful grounds but also a great base to go and see other parts of the country. So many highlights to our trip that it would take too long listing them all.
If you can though, do attend the weekly Celidh at the village hall as it's so much fun. The locals provide a warm and welcoming environment.
Honestly can't wait to go again!
A picture postcard perfect place with great facilities and comfortable plush accommodation. Great walks and nearby restaurants in Fort Augustus
Apartment was very clean and had all the amenities you require. You can also get a supermarket home delivery which is really helpful.
Location is stunnng but real strength is the long list of 'to do' sports for kids i.e. tennis, cricket, football, badminton, giant chess, table tennis, kids pool table, table football, archery (additional cost), boules, pétanque.
We'll definitely go back.
The Highland Club is definitely one of those unique places which combines history with style, luxury and yet homeliness. From the driveway up until the forks in the apartments, everything is thought through to the absolute detail. I personally loved watching the rabbits on the Monk's Lawn, and playing croquet there as you had the towering Abbey in the background and Loch Ness stretching out in front of you. There is definitely some form of magic at The Highland Club, one that allows you to easily dream of the Loch Ness Monster, but also one that transports you back to the history of the building. You can almost hear the monk's steps and prayers through the cloisters, and see the redcoat patrols circling the Fort. To combine the history of such an outstanding location with their gorgeous apartments is something to be admired.
The Boathouse is also another gem of The Highland Club, with delicious food mere steps from the accommodation, which I loved. But I think my favourite thing is how The Highland Club blends itself into Fort Augustus. It is certainly a statement building, but the buildings and the grounds fit into the Scottish town without overwhelming it. It allows you to experience the Highlands and Scottish life with that touch of luxury.
I can't wait to visit again, and hopefully the swimming pool will be complete which will just be the cherry on top of the cake as I tried feeling the water of Loch Ness and that's just far too cold for me, despite the allure of swimming with Nessie!
