We had great fun looking for Nessie on our trip, they do squeeze everyone on so it does feel a bit cramped but that doesn't take away from the adventure. Well worth a trip for the beautiful views alone.

We went as a family to Loch Ness and treated ourselves to a one hour boat trip.Whilst I would not say the trip was cheap it was most certainly worthwhile. The staff were helpful and courteous. The refreshments were first rate. The voyage was excellent and the commentary informative. A highlight of our time away. A must do to all who visit Loch Ness.

When you're ready for a sit-down in your travels, catch one of these hour-long cruises on Loch Ness, right on the canal in Fort Augustus on the hour. There aren't many historical sights on the short tour we took, but the narration is informative about the lake and local legend. Next time I'll split from the rest of the group and take the RIB boat, which we saw prepping when we lined up. Looks exciting!

Cruise Loch Ness has good discounts for families and students, and the ticket agents are genuinely friendly and accommodating.

If you are up for an exhilarating fast and furious 90 minutes boat trip then do this.
Go when its busy as two boats will be on the water at the same time which ratchets up the fun. They race along Loch Ness with fast turns and cross overs which adds a few bumps. The boat stops in several places for the skipper to give a comentory about the natural history and wierd goings on in and around the loch. Urquart castle is the half way point where after a potted history we raced back down wind sat out on the pontoons for added excitement.
