I would highly recommend the highland club to anyone. Julie and Gordon were so helpful and the apartments were of an extremely high standard. The tour when we arrived was very interesting and Gordon was happy to answer any questions. I will certainly be back again with my family.

I can't speak highly enough of this amazing resort. The apartment we had was exceptional, with a welcome pack including wine and shortbread, Sky tv, Wi-Fi and the facilities at Highland Club are perfect.
Swimming pool. Sauna. Steam room. The old refectory housed the Snooker table and Pool table, with books to read and board games. Table tennis. Outdoor activities. There was so much to do, obviously only if you ever got fed up of the wonderful highland scenery around Loch Ness.
If you're looking for a nice quiet and relaxing break in a beautiful location, this is the place.

We always carefully research places to stay when we travel and like to book outside the realm of the ordinary hotel. That's why The Highland Club apartment was perfect for us.

We received an hour-long tour of the facilities before being shown to our apartment, which was much larger than anticipated and thoughtfully equipped to a very high standard. There was even a bottle of wine and gourmet goodies for us to enjoy. Every need was anticipated - down to laundry and dishwasher pods!

We shopped for groceries at Fort William, on our way up from Glasgow. The Morrison's there carries a full range of perishable and non-perishable items - certainly more than the small multi-purpose store in Fort Augustus. That said, we could have also managed very well shopping locally.

We spent our four days and nights seeing the Highlands, riding the Jacobite Express, visiting the Isle of Skye and Inverness and places in between. The weather could have been a little less "Scottish' but we are west coast Canadians and used to liquid sunshine.

The only criticisms we would make are about the many, many, many stairs we had to climb to get to our flat, AC25 I believe (a little warning may have helped) but we do understand not wanting to mess with an historic building any more than necessary. And the master suite bed was not terribly comfortable and on the small side. There is certainly enough room for a king size bed.

Everything else was to a very high standard and we would certainly recommend The Highland Club to our friends. In fact, we already have!

Room Tip: There are no elevators and many stairs so unless you are a goat you might want to try to find out about your room choice before booking,

On arriving it took us quite some time to find someone to help us check in! We were then met by Simon who was lovely and showed us around. When booking accommodation the website advised there was two bathrooms , both with showers and a Kingsize bed in the master bedroom. The bed was a double, very hard mattress and not so comfortable pillows! There is also only one shower so if travelling with friends this is not suitable! When bringing this to management attention they blamed the site it was booked through. Poor excuse as all sites should be advertising correct information. Apart from that it is a beautiful setting.

Accommodation choices during peak season in this part of Scotland are actually fairly limited for a family of 4. After looking into a couple of hotels (where we would have to book 2 rooms) we decided to spend a little more and stay here instead. We were welcomed by a hostess who gave us a 30 min tour of the apartment and the property including its expansive grounds. The two-bedroom apt we stayed in (#11) was spacious, immaculate and beautifully decorated. There is a pool, tennis court, croquet court and a children's playground, which we did not have time enjoy. If you want to have a nice relaxing few days and stay in, this is the perfect place. Alternatively, if you wish to go out and explore, Isle of Skye, Glencoe and Inverness can all be reached within a couple of hours driving and doable as day trips. The hotel is situated right next to Loch Ness, and the Caledonian Canal locks at Fort Augustus(very fun to watch boats going through the locks). A small supermarket is within walking distance.
One thing to keep in mind is that the hotel does not allow check-in after 10PM. So plan accordingly.
