“Lovely wee village ”
Reviewed 21 August 2014 via mobile

We stayed here for a week in July & and had a fab time. We never got tired of watching all the different boats going up and down the lochs. Its a really slow pace of life here perfect place if your looking for relaxation. There's a few tourists during the day taking photos and a few walkers passing through on the Great Glen Trail. There's 3 or 4 gifts shops & some lovely places to eat. It's a great bast if you want to tour around a bit. Would definitely stay here again but we'd bring our bikes next time & cycle some of the canal path.

“Great for People watching”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

This a very tourist town. There is 5 locks coming off the river like steps of stairs down to the Lock Ness, and you could spend hours sitting outside the pubs beside the locks and eat and drink and watch all the lovely boats manoeuvre down. Loved our day here

“A nice little town”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

A pretty town that has grown around the series of canal locks at the base of Loch Ness. Watching boats slowly negotiate the locks for the road bridge to slowly open and the road to swing to one side is interesting and best done from a seat on the grass banks either side with a nice cream from the supermarket cafe or a take out beer from the Loch Inn.

“Great View of the Entrance into Loch Ness”
Reviewed 15 August 2014

If you love boats and watching them go through the lock system of the canal, enjoy lunch here and watch the boats pass through.
