What can we say about this super B&B. We were welcomed by the host Tina and what a character she was. You come into a welcoming hallway and its so quirky even though all of the house has been renovated to a high standard they have still kept the charm of a once Victorian house. Tina made you feel relaxed, she let us have a look at the two double rooms upstairs and they were each designed differently but with warmth. We chose the double room at the back as it had views out to Fort Augustus and the hills but both were lovely. Looking at both rooms we were so happy to see how spotlessly clean they were. We especially loved the thick fresh fluffy towels and crisp bedlinen. This is always important to us when staying somewhere to have this luxury. There is a guest lounge for guests to enjoy games, books and watch TV. You can walk into the village for an evening meal as its a 2 min walk away as is Loch Ness. Fort Augustus do boat trips from the lochside on the hour. We feel that this B&B is a home away from home and has so much character. We met Clive in the evening and he was telling us all about the area from walks to wildlife. Would we recommend this B&B? YES we would as its a hidden gem in Fort Augustus. Thank you Tina and Clive for your great hospitality

Room Tip: Double rooms are great. Good fitness centre in Fort William

When we knocked on the door of Beaufort house, we had a quick look inside of the room that's available. The room looked clean at first sight, apart from the hand towel in the bathroom. The hand towel didn't look fresh, we thought that's fine cos we are not going to use it since there were tissues in the room (it's not a good sign if the owners are not changing the hand towel between guests). We wanted to lift the duvet to look inside of the bed, but we thought it could be very intrusive and we didn't. Now we regretted that we didn't. Based on the impression at surface, we booked a night at this B&B.

We returned to the B&B after dinner around 8pm. We discovered that the fitted bedsheet was very creased and looked dirty. We also found two ginger colored hair underneath one of the pillows. When we asked Clive whether they have changed the fitted bedsheet between guests. He denied it. The fitted betsheet clearly looked unchanged and not in a state any B&Bs should offer to their guests. He didn't offer to change the dirty bedding. Tina kept saying that the bath towels are clean, but we don't think that justified the fact that we are getting a dirty bedsheet for our holiday. It's just disgusting. As they had no intention to solve or listen to our complain. We decided to leave. Clive was worried about the payment of the room. He didn't feel sorry that he gave us such disgusting experience. He insisted chareged us half of the rental even thought we were the victims because we trusted them to provide at least a clean bed to in exchange of the money. Because we didn't even get a clean bed, so we don't think Tina and Clive deserved any payment from us. They did get money from us even though they were the parties who breach the rules. So I am writing this review to warn you avoiding this B&B at a cost, otherwise you will pay a price!!!!

This couple arrived at approximately 6:30 p.m. and were directed upstairs to view the room and facilities on their own which they did for a while before accepting it. They occupied the room for more than 4 hours when the woman complained to my husband Clive that the sheets were creased but there was no mention at any time of a used towel or dirty bed-linen. As her husband was undressed and had been in bed for a while, it was not surprising that there was hairs and creased sheets in the bed. She said she was leaving even though her husband wanted to stay as he stated that the room was in perfect order but his wife had a big problem with OCD. This woman was so verbally aggressive and abusive to both myself and my husband, I phoned the police at 11 p.m.. She continued to argue and ran screaming after her husband when he tried to pay us £30, half the room price, which was small compensation for having used all the facilities and leaving the room in total disarray. They took off in their car before the police arrived. I hope that any future guest reading this will be reassured as to the cleanliness of my home as vouched for in previous reviews by other guests who have stayed with me.

I usually check the Trip advisor before making a booking. I saw the negative reviews but decided to ignore them because they were outnumbered by the excellent ratings. My instincts were correct. The negative comments were probably more reflective of the travellers than the B&B. Stayed 5 nights in Oct 13. Everything was excellent - Strong wifi connection, VERY clean and tidy room, substantial breakfast, beverages and cookies in the room replenished daily, and clean fluffy towels. We received VERY warm hospitality not only from Tina but also from her husband Clive and their border collie Monty. They made our vacation most memorable - Tina with her great sense of humour, Clive with his bonny blue eyes and knowledge of the best walks in Fort Augustus, and Monty with his incomparable penchant for sticks or anything resembling a stick!

Beaufort House is a real find in Fort Augustus and should rate much higher. Tina was helpful, dried wet clothes and rang a doctor when needed. The location was excellent. We had a narrow view of the canal and could watch the boats move through if we had stayed in room. Nice sitting room, which is always such a plus in a b and b especially as we were 2 couples travelling together. 2 minute walk to canal, pubs and waterfront. Lovely breakfast.

I was staggered to see negative reviews about this lovely B&B. We had a lovely welcome and Tina & Clive were wonderful hosts, and had a great sense of humour. The room and house was very comfortable and spotlessly clean, with a great choice for breakfast. Tina even made porridge just for me, along with helpful hints on how to make 'proper' porridge which I have duly tried and works a treat. Couldn't of asked for more! Will definitely be back.

This was the best unplanned stop we had in Scotland. Spent two wonderful nights in a perfectly kept room in a spotless home. Tina is a warm and friendly host that made her home feel like your own. She has the best sausages in the Glen, if not all of Scotland.

Spent a wonderful Saturday night here recently with my partner and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet getaway in this area. Warm welcome from Tina and room was very nicely decorated and super comfy bed, shower was to die for too! Tina makes a cracking breakfast which set us up just perfect for the day,and herself and Clive are great hosts and have a vast knowledge of the local area which they are more than willing to share. We look forward to our next trip there and hope it will be for longer this time.
