“Beautiful and luxurious yet affordable!”
Reviewed 11 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We arrived after a 161m detour due to bad weather the road was closed! However even at midnight we were reliably let into the flat and shown the basics. The kids took the upstairs room overlooking the dining table. This was ok as they are older but would be dangerous for small kids as they could go over the edge.

The flat is beautifully laid out and the different levels make it interesting and spacious. The amenities are excellent. I had brought lots if things I didn't need as they were all provided, washing up liquid, dish washer washing machine tabs just sufficient for our needs. The gas cooker is easy to work and the electric oven reliable. There's a percolator and even cling film!

The lounge is beautifully furnished and Sky TV kept the kids happy with a few films. The wifi is also excellent you get it throughout the flat. This is crucial as the phone signal isn't the best unless you go outside. Ceilings are high so we couldn't work any windows but that's probably just me!

We enjoyed access to the pool and games and my only regret is that we couldn't stay longer! In fact the kids liked the flat so much they wanted to move in permanently and that says a lot!

As to the booking experience I highly recommend you go straight to the owner. Roy gave us an excellent deal and a massive list with suggestions on what to do! Really helpful, very friendly and swift with all communication.

Whilst writing this review I also want to point out that the tree colours in the Scottish Highlands are amazing at this time of the year, yellows, oranges, browns & greens with spectacular views of the loch!

Take a reel or rod if you want to fish, my son managed to catch a trout on the first day, yum!

The staff at the Highland Club were equally brilliant and even sent our stuffed toy back that had fallen behind! Fabulous stay would love to come back.

Ben Nevis is about 1h15 away so easily accessible. We managed to find a calm day to climb it!

Thanks Highland Club and Roy for a great holiday!

“What it says is what you get, Luxury>”
Reviewed 22 January 2014 for a stay in September 2013

This is the second visit I have made to this apartment and if anything the visit was even better than the first visit. There was myself, wife, sister in-law and her boyfriend. All amenity's within are of a high standard and well looked after. The sleeping arrangements worked very well and the beds on the mezzanine floor were very comfortable. The hot rooms and pool are a short 2 minute walk through the cloisters and are just perfect, never busy and always available. The grounds are well kept and again the amenity's are good. the town is but a 5 minute walk and provides for all basic requirements. Retaurants are many and very close and of course the lock is visible through the living room window and again is accessed from the gardens.
All in all a great place from which to base yourself, with lots to do in the local area and a good location for seeing further afield. Most enjoyable.

“Fantastic apartment and location”
Reviewed 23 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

This apartment is as delightful on the inside as the views are on the outside. The Highland Club has excellent facilities to occupy you on any rainy days and the array of books, DVD's and games for your use in the apartment will help you while the hours away. The furnishings and equipment is of the highest quality and the quirky layout of the apartment keeps you guessing what you will find round the next corner. The Abbey building is quite spectacular and the grounds are kept immaculate. There is so much space, inside the building, in the gardens and on the loch side that you can always find peace and quiet. The small village of Fort Augustus offers good quality pubs, restaurants and coffee shops and a good place to watch the world go by. The owner of the apartment is very helpful and has a good knowledge of the area and will take time to make sure you have all the information you need. Already trying to find time to visit again next year.

“GOOD QUALITY ACCOMMODATION”
Reviewed 25 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

The apartment proved to be at least as good as it looked on the website; everything was clean and in good condition. The setting at the loch is perfect and all the extra facilities were available as advertised (gym, playground, games room and so on). The swimming-pool could only be booked on a day-to-day basis but we didn't have any problems obtaining the 6 p.m. slots we wanted. We were blessed with only a couple of showers the whole week and so were able to do lots of outdoor activities and no midge bites! Recommended.

“Fabulous apartment, wonderfully romantic setting!”
Reviewed 1 April 2013 for a stay in September 2012

“The Classrooms” within the tastefully renovated Highland Club, gave my girlfriend and I the perfect romantic getaway we'd hoped for. Literally set on the south western shores of the world famous Loch Ness and in the delightful Scottish village of Fort Augustus, the tastefully furnished spacious two bedroom apartment oozed historical charm and intrigue together with exceptional comfort. The Highland Club, a former Abbey and later school, offers on site leisure facilities such as a small swimming pool, sauna, gym and tennis courts.
