Stayed 2 nights at the end of September and as previous reviewers have said everything is perfect from the friendly staff, the lounges with real fire ro relax in, comfortable very clean room, we had a superior double ( which had a king size bed ) bathroom was large with a powerful shower in the bath tub. Now for the food breakfast had a great choice on the buffet and the cooked options were lovely, dinner in the brasserie both nights was excellent, beautifully prepared and presented, so tasty will definitely be back.

We booked our room at the Lovat Loch Ness a mere two hours before check-in on a Sunday afternoon in mid-September, and from the moment we arrived until checkout the following day, the entire experience was outstanding. The Hotel has 28 rooms, 22 of which are located in the three-story main, “Victorian building,” where the reception desk, common areas, restaurant and bar are located, and six rooms are located in the adjacent “garden building” next to the car park, where all of the rooms have a private, outdoor patio. The Victorian era reception desk sits in the entry foyer, and to the left is homey sitting room with working fireplace, grand piano, and library.

Our super deluxe double room on the second floor of the main building was well-appointed and comfortable and featured an over-sized bathroom with dressing robes and designer toiletries, and large windows with two directional views that offered a glimpse of the Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness. The Wi-Fi was excellent in the room and throughout the hotel.

The Hotel’s restaurant -- The Brasserie – served some of the finest food that we tasted anywhere during our two-week tour of Scotland and should not be missed whether staying at the Hotel or somewhere else in Fort Augustus, or just passing through. The setting is upscale casual; the menu is sophisticated, yet unpretentious; the food is memorable; and the service is attentive without being over-bearing.

The Hotel sits on a hill in near the center of Fort Augustus, and is within easy walking distance of the Caledonian Canal and Locks, Loch Ness, St. Benedict’s Abbey, and several friendly pubs.

We truly enjoyed out stay at the Lovat Loch Ness, and indeed, my only negative comment is that we were only able to stay one night,

We stayed for two nights, the rooms were lovely, well decorated and comfortable. Lovely places to sit and relax with a drink or a book. The restaurant was amazing both for our evening meal and again for breakfast.
Wouldn't hesitate to go back

We stayed at the Lovat for one night on our Scotland trip. We are in the hospitality business, and were impressed with the many thoughtful touches in the room. The bed was also very comfortable and the bathroom was roomy and we'll appointed. Definitely a great choice on our Scotland vacation!

Went for an evening meal at the Lovat Restaurant on 15th. Had the most incredible meal. It was a masterpiece on a plate, it looked and tasted great. They were good balanced portions. The staff were polite and helpful all night. Will be returning.
