“warm welcome after wet walk”
Reviewed 3 June 2013

We stayed here for one night when we walked part of the Great Glen Way. We arrived soaking wet, cold and tired. Andy and sheilia let us in early and made us feel really welcom they organised our wet things, stuffed our boots with newspaper and gave us coffee and cake. Nothing was too much trouble. Rooms are big with plenty of tea and biscuits. Breakfast was great too especially the pancakes. We would love to stay again perhaps for a few days.

Room Tip: Pancakes are really great and make a change from cooked breakfast

I had stayed here for one night while near Loch Ness, and it was a real gem of a find. The owners Sheila and Andy were brilliant, and nothing was any trouble for them. The room was spotless and this had great views. The breakfast in the morning was to die for as well! I would certainly stay here again when in the area

I was only there for one night as I was at a wedding elsewhere in the village. That made no difference to the owners, Sheila and Andy, who had my room ready so that I could relax and freshen up after my three-hour drive and prior to going to the wedding. On my return, having had a great day, the room offered a luxurious and welcoming end to a hectic day. Breakfast the next morning was cooked to order and was perfect with tasty local produce, chilled fruit juice, nice coffee and the usual extras like toast and cereal. Unfortunately the same journey beckoned back home because I was working so I reluctantly had to leave...but, as promised, I will be back - for longer next time. Verdict - 10/10 on all aspects, thank you

Only stayed here for 1 night whilst walking the Great Glen Way but wish it had been much longer. In a perfect position overlooking the locks and a short stroll to everything Fort Augustus has to offer. We had the good fortune to be allocated the Turret room which is simply first class - our friends had the adjacent room at the front of the house overlooking the locks and this was also excellent. The place is well furnished, spotlessly clean and very comfortable but what really makes it stand head and shoulders above the rest are the lovely people who run it - Sheila and Andy. I challenge anyone to find more genuinely friendly and welcoming hosts anywhere. The extra touches like the homemade cake and tea or coffee on arrival are an added bonus.

We received a warm welcome and were shown to a beautiful spacious room on the 1st floor. There was even a bed provided for the dog. Our hosts provided fresh coffee and lovely homemade cake.Breakfast was excellent. Hosts were very friendly and chatty. B&B has recently been sold so hope the new owners can keep up the very high standards.

Highly recommended. We spent one night at this B&B on our way to Skye. Definitely would spend more time there if we could! Found it by chance. It was a very pleasant surprise! Really feels like home. Sheila and Andy are extremely friendly and nice hosts. They gave us a very warm welcome. Sheila advised us about best places for lunch and this was so useful as we didn't know anything in that place. The B&B itself is very tidy and nicely decorated, very pleasant place. The breakfast was great and nourishing, and the chocolate cake was awesome! Thank you so much!

We arived here with our newborn baby girl from glasgow for a well deserved break. for augustus itself is a gobsmacking views and lots to do.

The bank house bnb could easily have been a 5 star hotel. taking to a beautifull room where awaited us was incredible chocolate cake with tea and coffee. a very clean fresh king size bed ( we could just have jumped in and went too sleep. the next day at breakfast there was choice than anyone could ever want. i had porridge with fresh local fruit and yogurt. the staff here cant remember the names, are extremely pleasent and welcoming. all three of them are a credit too thereselfs.

And the view of loch ness from our room in the morning... well i dont know any words too descrbe that. that is something you have too see for yourself.

We will be back this year and looking forward too it. Niamh Davie & Laura
