Stayed one night in late July. Booked the Bank House for its location and we weren't disappointed - the best B&B during our trip. Great view overlooking the locks on the canal and within walking distance to everything in Fort Augustus. Room was spacious and bed very comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to order and plentiful. Try the local fish and chip shop for dinner and take in the canal and lake views as you 'picnic' beside the locks - perfect!

We spent one night in early August. We had no idea the place was under new ownership, but we'd never have known it from the reception. We had reserved a room (I think it was the Turret room) with a view of the locks on the Canal--I knew my husband would love that--and it was indeed an amazing view! I took a movie of some boats traveling through the lock right from our window! We stayed in Fort Augustus because we were booked for a ride the next morning with Cruise Loch Ness, so we were delighted to discover that the boat dock was within very easy walking distance of the B&B. Ian recommended The Boathouse for dinner, and it was a nice short walk and a fine choice. Afterwards, Ian filled us in on what to expect on the RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) ride, which was a big help in planning how to dress the next morning. Since one part of the B&B building contains an office of the Bank of Scotland, we had thought perhaps there would be an ATM right there, but this turned out not to be the case--the bank is only open for a few limited hours weekly and there is no ATM. But Ian directed us to an ATM an easy walk away. Breakfast was great, and Ian even carried our suitcases out to the car for us. All in all, a great, friendly place to stay. We'd definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the Caledonian Canal!

We stayed here for 1 night while walking the Great Glen. Our room was by far the best we have stayed in. Spacious, comfortable with a modern large bathroom. Our breakfast was all you could wish with good choice and freshly cooked. For those interested the packed lunch was to a high standard and very tasty. Located near the top of the locks the resteraunts and pub are very nearby. Memorable stay!

Stayed for 2 nights early August, this was booked under the old management and trip advisor reviews. When we discovered there were new owners we were a tad apprehensive. Absolutely nothing but praise for the new owners though. The welcoming was great and the accommodation and breakfasts were excellent. Views of the locks and the hills from the Red room were great. Fort Augustus was the perfect location to explore the area. Local pubs were friendly and welcoming but beware, local Fish and Chip shop closes at 9pm not 11pm so nearly got caught out! We will most certainly be back.

Room Tip: Only stayed in the Red Room which was a good size with great views.

Had a lovely nights stay with the family. New owners were very welcoming and food was great.
I have stayed there approximately a couple of years ago, and it has improved greatly.
Took a couple of business cards from it to pass on to family and friends.

We arrived as part of a larger group of cyclist who were all doing the Land's End to John O'Groats cycle ride and after a very long days ride from. Because of the size of the group we were split in different guest houses.

Our hosts may have only recently taken over but we got a superb welcome! We were offered tea and cake and told to just leave our bikes and they would be dealt with for us. They offered to do our washing which was very helpful. I was in the turret room which was lovely. Well furnished and with lots of space, but also with nice views from the windows including to part of the locks nearby.

We got good advice about eating places for the evening and breakfast was very good. I would be very pleased to stay here for a longer visit and would recommend Bank house as a great place to stay!

Bank house has recently changed hands and the hosts had only been operating for one week when we arrived. An extremely warm welcome with the offer of tea and cake which was a great touch to start our stay. The location is great as it overlooks the lock gates and a
Has good free parking and is extremely quiet. A two minute stroll to pubs and restaurants makes life easy after a day of driving. The rooms are large, bright and airy and extremely comfortable. The owners are looking to make changes already to update the showers and improve other small areas. Overall would stay here every time we are in the area.

Room Tip: Front room overlooking the locks are good for the view, but all rooms are great.
