“Spectacular location and beautiful property right on Loch Ness”

Endless walks along the shore, beautifully manicured park and grounds. Walk and explore the forest to your heart’s content, really magical place, just like a movie set, but for real.
The owners Marion and Denis are amazing people, welcoming, big hearted and warm. They were so accommodating and went out of their way to help us in our idea of having a ceremony celebrating our love and nature right by the lake (Marion is going to get mad at my for saying “lake” and not loch).
The Bothy is very cozy and perfect size for up to two people. Oozing character and history from its thick stone walls. It has a hint of adventure even as you need to climb a ladder to the cozy loft where the bed is, reminding you perhaps of a sailboat’s stateroom or the sleeping quarters in a large caravan (motorhome).
The view from the windows is stunning. To the side, I found myself staring at the giant linden tree by the creek right next to the building. The sound of running water with the multiple small waterfalls just a few yards away from the front door adds even more magic to the whole setup. The window towards the Loch, has an amazing view of the short stone wall by the road, and then the park down below with such a great variety of trees and a beautifully maintained grass (many hours of dedication by Denis on his ride on lawnmower) which we enjoyed so much walking in bare feet. Then a pond with a summer house, (also included in the rental), with a row boat too which we took for a spin. The weather was fantastic for us, which made it all as close to perfection as could be imagined. Lots of pheasants and other wildlife in the park. It was a fantastic and memorable stay. We are definitely coming back.

Liked best: The immense property, surrounding park, huge nature by the shore
Liked least: The very low ceiling in the sleeping area upstairs.

“The Perfect Escape”

Myself and Lynne are both in our twenties and training at a drama school in London, so you can imagine how much we needed a break this Easter to re-boot ourselves. This wee cottage looking at the mesmerizing Loch Ness was perfect for that. We stayed for 5 nights, and I would really recommend others stay for as long as possible. There is so much to do in the area and beyond. We had great meals out (Fiddlers was a personal favourite), went horse riding which is only a 15 minute drive away. Went to the Highland Wildlife Centre and walked for miles across the Loch, exploring all its glory. (Sadly didn't see The Loch Ness Monster)
The Bothy has no TV, or WiFi, and good luck getting signal in there either. Although this sounds like a negative thing, it couldn't be a higher compliment to the place. With no distraction, no interruptions, the Bothy becomes the most romantic, relaxing and easy place to be. Just sit by the fire, looking at the Loch, cup of tea in hand listening to The Archers on BBC Radio 4 and I promise you that you will leave the place feeling refreshed and ready to return to your normal busy life.
Time doesn't exist in the Bothy. No stress, no problems. I haven't been this satisfied by a holiday, or felt this relaxed in years. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!
I do believe we will return sometime in the future!

“Tranquility”

Stayed at Old Farm for two nights during July while on holiday visiting friends and touring in the West Highlands. What a relaxing and picturesque spot with good access to the A82 and all major routes. The views down to Loch Ness are absolutely stunning and the owners have provided a lovely pavilion down by a private pond that enables you to relax and really appreciate your surroundings.
The accommodation is very comfortable and well maintained with all that you could reasonably need. Everything you need is provided including logs for the wood burning stove.
Kitchen facilities are very good though we ate out on both evenings and compact shower room has all the facilities you would expect
For the price of a budget hotel in most locations there really is no comparison
We noticed the that the prices and availability quoted on the Tripadvisor booking service were not accurate and we will in future make direct contact with the owner to make sure we do not miss out on this venue when next in the area.
