Enjoyable 4 night stay clean and tidy for a 1 bedroom lodge good info on attractions walks hotels eating places etc, had our dogs who are well behaved. Overall 4 star my only moan would be we practically deep cleaned before we left as partner hoovered the place twice i cleaned the toliet shower fridge cupboards and anything we used i checked and double checked or they charge you also stripped the bed folded the towels in a neat bundle - we are clean and tidy anyway but i thought all the tidying and cleaning expected a bit over the top thus no tip for the staff we did there job!

My Girlfriend and I stayed at Wildside Lodges from Monday 12th of May to Friday 16th. We arrived slightly early but were taken straight to our lodge and showed around by Jakki and told useful info about the local amenities etc. The Lodge its self is absoloutely stunning with a rustic themeand felt very homely. We stayed in Eagle lodge which has a unspoilt view of the mountain and hills with lots of sheep. A deer came to the fence on our last day but unfortantely we did not see the Eagle itself. The lodge came with all the esentials and much much more. It had full sets of cuttelry, plates, glasses, tin opener, matches for the amazing log burning stove and bbq. For the log burner you get a huge basket of logs and a huge basket full of paper and kindling. There was tea and coffee and also a pint of milk in the fridge too! The whole place was spotlessly clean both inside and out. The bedrooms were beautiful and the bed was very comfortable too. There was lots of info books and leaflets and also a book the owners had compiled which felt like a lot of effort had gone into. It was my girlfiends birthday when we were there and there was a suprise bottle of bubbly waiting for her on arrival. The location of lodge is perfect. The hot tub was amazing to chill out in after a long day and was beautifully placed to look out at the moon and stars (plastic glasses are provided).Almost everyday there was a man out keeping the site well kept and imaculate . There are lots of nice flowers and bird tables dotted around to attract the large amount of birds and wild fowl.About a 10-15 min drive to fort augustus along very beautiful roads. Fort Augustus is loverly too, there is a loverly restaurant/cafe called the boathouse or even the cafe at the Loch Ness exhibition was loverly and did a wonderful hot chocolate with cream and marshmallow and some loverly food. There is a pub about a 3 minute walk from the lodges which we did not visit, but i heard the food there is also loverly. It also only took 1 hour to drive to Inverness. All in all i would rate the site/lodge/staff a 5 out of 5 and would rate the area a 5 out of 5 also.

My partner and I have stayed at the Wildside Highland Lodges on two occasions. The first in April 2013 and we stayed in a Highland Lodge for a 4 day break and the second in May 2014 and we stayed in the Eagle Lodge for 1 week.

Highland Lodge - The lodge was spotless and tastefully decorated. There were 2 bedrooms which were both a bit cramped but for a 4 day break they were more than adequate. The kitchen was compact but everything that you required was there. The living space again was slightly on the small side. The couch was our only main gripe - it was very uncomfortable. The hot tub was amazing and ready to go when we arrived. Great to jump into after a long hike or to sit out at night and star gaze. The lodge sat just above a river and was great for bird watching.

Eagle Lodge - This lodge was at the other side of the river from where we had stayed before. The lodge again was spotless and I loved the decor!! There were 2 bedrooms - the master was spacious with an exceptionally comfortable bed. The bathroom was modern and the shower was fantastic. The kitchen again was compact but modern and had everything you need. The living space was bigger this time and the sofa was much much more comfortable. The hot tub again was amazing and ready for us when we arrived. As we were there for a week it got cleaned half way through our stay which was great. The wildlife that you can see from the Eagle Lodge was just amazing. All sorts past us daily such as pheasants, deer, hare and a variety of birds.

Both of the lodges have wood burners. Both came with bathrobes and slippers which was a nice touch. Both lodges were also private which is lovely and adds to the peacefulness of the site. The no reception was not an issue for us. We picked up a little bit of Wifi around the lodge but it wasn't a big deal as we enjoyed not having any.

We will defiantly return to the Wildside Highland Lodges. The location, the staff and the accommodation were all fantastic. Already know what one I want to go for this time :) Thanks again!!

We stayed in Rowan for 4 nights and really enjoyed our stay. They think of everything and so when you arrive you have lots to keep you going with milk, tea, coffee, loo rolls, cleaning stuff and even logs for the fire.
The manager Jakki was lovely, so friendly and made us feel at home.
The hot tub was amazing and ready for us when we arrived.
There are loads of people who seem to mention lack of wifi and phone signal here but really what do you want? You are in a secluded highland lodge!! Take a few days out of the busy Facebook schedule and just enjoy yourself and the peace. It won't kill you. They can't help the phone signal it is very secluded.
We did have wifi on and off in our lodge as it was near reception.
There are slippers and dressing gowns for you to use and they provide towels too.
All in all we loved it here.

We were very pleased with the chalet we had, one in the Dalwhinnie range, it had plenty of space for our party comprising 4 adults and 2 children. It sat in a good expanse of grassed area and had covered decking running along 2 sides of the lodge, this was great for sitting, or the kids playing out even when it was raining. The lodge was warm and had a wood burning stove which gave out a good deal of heat to supplement the electric heaters.
We found that although a fridge and freezer were present we struggled for storage space for other grocery items. Also the double en-suite bedroom was provided with robes and slippers but this was not the case with the other double bedroom. The bathroom / shower for the upstairs bedrooms was on the ground floor which is not ideal when anyone wishes to go during the night.
