“Great atmosphere, good service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 May 2013 via mobile

Stayed in Wildside Higland Lodges and this was the only eating facility nearby. Was very good, good service and kind people. Food was also good and even enjoyed a game of pool afterwards. If you're staying in Whitebridge I can definitely recommend. Especially because Fort Augustus is a 25 min. drive.

If you want a real highland experience then this is the place for you. If you are expecting the savoy or hilton then go to a city. This hotel delivers everything you would want to truly experience the local culture. It feels like you are walking into your own home - apart from the fact that you are going to be looked after like a local Laird. The bedrooms are cosy with wonderful views into the highlands. The bar area is traditional and full of the locals who are always ready to chat and share local stories with you, again the bar area is not a city wine bar - but who wants it to be?? A more relaxing place to drink and eat after a hard days walking will be hard to find. One thing that is London Savoy is the food - yum yum I could not eat enough. So to Sarah and David the owners - thanks for looking after me your place really is a hidden gem for real walkers, stalkers and travellers who are wanting to experience true Scotland. I shall be back! Stephen May

I have just returned for a three day/night stay in the Whitebridge with three friends on a stalking trip. We recieved a true highland welcome in the cosy bar on Thursday night in front of the wood burning stove (perfect after a 7hr drive). This was only the start of a fantastic three days. The food is all cooked and prepared in house and is perfect, a point we all noted was that the locals all eat here on a regular basis, so thats got to be a good sign.

The Hotel It's is a credit to the owners Sarah and David who both make you feel like you are guests in their own house, indeed every night they made the effort to sit down and have a chat with us in the bar.

Before we went we had checked out the trip advisors web site and found that with the exception of some purple furry slipper wearing do gooders most people loved the old fashioned charm and homleness of the place.

The dull feeling in ones stomach when we parted on the Sunday morning summed our stay up, we didn't want to go home.

Our advice, go to the whitebridge you will not be disapointed. (unless you wear purple furry slippers)

We will be back for sure.

Thanks

Ross Stewart

I definitely would recommend The Whitebridge Hotel, yummy food, efficient staff, especially Tom & Mike!
Steak & ale pie, followed by lemon cheesecake are excellent.
Great views from bedrooms & some good walks locally. It was a shame when we had to go home.
Will definitely come back.

We stayed for one night in December. Sarah and David were fabulous hosts and couldn't have been more accommodating. We spent the evening in the cosy bar which was full of locals and tourists and were treated to the best mulled wine I have ever tasted (made from scratch by chef Sarah.) Our room was lovely and big with great views of the surrounding countryside. In the morning we had a fabulous breakfast and food allergies (eggs and dairy) were no issue at all.

Room Tip: 11 is good and big.

Thanks for such a lovely stay. We stayed just one night on a road trip around the area, and it was a lovely, peaceful and very reasonably priced hotel with really friendly and helpful staff. Also the food was nice and hearty, in the bar and at breakfast the next morning (had a delicious full Scottish breakfast in the quiet little breakfast room, with very pretty views). The room we stayed in was simple but clean and comfy, and peaceful even though it was directly above the bar. It's a stunning location, too. Thanks again!

thank you sarah and david-we had a fab 4 night stay. myself, husband and our dog jack were all made to feel very welcome. the hotel has a great atmosphere with very friendly staff. we are none meat eaters so were prepared to be on a restricted diet during our stay. this was not the case! the menu is extensive and the food all home cooked and delicious. hubby gives top marks for quality real ale in the highlands-a rare find! highly recommend for a laid back break. we will definitely return.
