“Good hotel. a car is a must!!”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

During our stay in Scotland (at the Skye Isle ) we managed to call a representative of Visit Scotland company. This representative (Clair was her name) manage to find us a non expensive hotel nearby Loch Ness during the most busy tourist time and area. Since we had a car and GPS ( and also very good driving map of Scotland -A must!!) , we arrived to the Whitebridge hotel around 20:00.
The Staff was very friendly and welcome us to the our room. We got four beds for four of us. The bathroom was fine (not large, but not too small..). Our dinner was carried out in the hotel's pub (during a football game) and was fun and very tasty. The sleep quality was fine. In the morning we ate their breakfast and start to travel around Loch Ness (we did not find Nessi..).
It is essential for you to have your own transportation in order arrive Whitebridge, since it is a very small town, located pretty far from the main roads.
From that day we made a routine to call the staff of Visit Scotland in order to arrange our next b&b.
I would like to Recommend you to use this company in order to find good b&b around Scotland.

Whilst walking the Inverness 360• circular we had walked five hours solid from fort Augustus main street to arrive here. We were told at 14.22 food was no longer being served as it stopped at 14.00 we were never left disappointed as the young(good looking) guy who was working behind the bar made us the best sandwich and drink. We were so grateful to him for this and just want others to know a small place like this is worth the vist as the place/food and staff are great.

We stayed at this hotel as part of our trip in the highlands. We found a wonderful welcome from everyone. There was excellent food available and an extremely comfortable room. The bar offered two real ales, both of which were in tip top condition.

A great place to stay.

I spent two days at the hotel and during my stay I met some lovely people.I was made very welcome by the staff and management. My two dogs were also welcomed as this is a dog friendly hotel. A excellent menu of fresh home made cooking the Cullenskink soup was my favorite. The owners work extremely hard and their great staff team have to be complement too. There was a relaxed atmosphere throughout the hotel. I will definitely will return. Peace and tranquility most enjoyable.

We stayed here for two nights as part of a touring holiday, and the whole experience was very enjoyable. Our room was clean and well equipped, with an en-suite bathroom (though no shower). The scenery on the road from Fort Augustus is quite breathtaking, and the welcome at Whitebridge Hotel was equally pleasing. The ambience is pleasant and refined, with a mix of old fashioned style and modern facilities. The breakfast is excellent, and evening meals are good value with a friendly atmosphere. The public bar is deservedly popular with residents and locals, and there is a comfortable residents' lounge with free wi-fi. We would certainly recommend this hotel to others.

Room Tip: Check with the hotel when booking if you want a room with a shower.

We spent an excellent three days in the beautiful, dramatic scenery of South Loch Ness staying two nights in this delightful hotel which is full of Highland character. We particularly liked the stairway, the several paintings and the wood paneling.
Our bedroom was large, as was the en-suite bathroom. Modern, no, but very comfortable with everything working well, yes.
Breakfast choice, quality and quantity was excellent - it was easy to cut out lunch!
In the evening the bar with it's stone floors was also first class. Great atmosphere with friendly bar staff, locals and visitors alike. Perfectly kept real ale (Trade Winds during our visit) to wash down delicious great value food.
The residents lounge is a quite beautiful room with much to do and internet access. On future visits - which we will definitely have - we would probably spend more time here in the early evening before heading to the pleasures of the bar.
