We had a superb week in this lovely cottage. Very comfortable, and well equipped. In the absence of a shower, we rediscovered the total relaxation a bath offers after a long day hill walking, with the added bonus of breathtaking views of the Summer Isles from the bath! The garden is fully enclosed which is a boon for dog owners. Fabulous beach walks at Achnahaird, climbed Cul Mor in glorious sunshine, it has a good stalkers' path which you pick up after parking at Knockan Crag. Also, a good coastal walk from Polbain to Old Dornie. Revisited Kirkaig Falls near Lochinver which takes approximately 45 mins by car. We had a superb meal at 'Salt' in Achiltibuie and also excellent bar meal at am fuaran bar at Altandhu, 1.5 miles away. Would thoroughly recommend the cottage and area.

“Holiday Cottage with Summer Isles View”
Reviewed 4 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Joyce made prompt contact to out booking enquiry. The cottage has been in her family for generations and the accounts of their life and personal photographs give a real sense on history. It is a typical crofters cottage in a stunning location, with a well equipped kitchen and enclosed garden. There is parking just opposite for a car, but if you have a large vehicle I'd suggest discussing parking options with Joyce before booking.

It takes around 50 minutes to drive to Ullapool, for a Supermarket, but the drive (mostly on single track roads) has fantastic mountain views. Good local walks and interesting geology.

Liked best: Location and the fact that the property has been maintained as a home rather than stripped out & refitted
Liked least: The oven isn't brilliant, but still servicable for holiday cooking

“Comfortable welcoming house with stupendous views”
Reviewed 18 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

The weather at the beginning of our week was pretty awful - rain and cold but this house was a real find. Fantastic views and everything you could need in bad weather. We had an open fire every evening which was a delight. The owner told us we could use as much logs and coal in the woodshed as we wanted. We still did a lot of walking and touring despite the weather but it was lovely to return to every day. We were rewarded on the last day with perfect weather and the view form the bench in the garden will stay with me throughout the year! Thank you Joyce and Di.
